What ChatGPT says about Elden Ring:
Elden Ring is a highly anticipated action role-playing game (RPG) developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game is directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, the creator of the popular Dark Souls series, and features an open world environment, fast-paced combat, and challenging boss battles.
Players take on the role of a custom-created character known as a “Follower” who sets out on a journey to discover the truth behind the Elden Ring, a powerful artifact that has been shattered and is causing chaos throughout the world. Along the way, players will explore a variety of different regions, each with their own unique enemies and bosses.
One of the key features of Elden Ring is its open world design. Players are free to explore the game’s vast environments, which range from dense forests and rugged mountains to dark caves and abandoned ruins. As players explore, they will come across a variety of enemies, including giant beasts, undead soldiers, and powerful bosses. These enemies will require players to use a combination of weapons and magic to defeat.
Combat in Elden Ring is fast-paced and requires quick reflexes and careful timing. Players have access to a variety of weapons, including swords, axes, hammers, and bows. Each weapon has its own unique moveset and can be customized with different gems to enhance their abilities. Players also have access to magic spells, which can be used to deal damage, heal, or provide other benefits.
As players defeat enemies and complete objectives, they will earn experience points that can be used to level up their character and improve their abilities. Players will also find new weapons and equipment throughout the game. It is important to manage the inventory and choose the right equipment depending on the situation.
Players will also encounter a variety of challenging boss battles throughout their journey. These bosses are powerful and require players to use all of their skills and abilities to defeat them. Some bosses also have multiple phases, with different attack patterns and weaknesses. It will be important for players to learn the patterns of the boss and react accordingly.
Elden Ring also features a co-op multiplayer mode, which allows players to join together and take on the game’s challenges as a team. In this mode, players can summon one another to help with tough battles or explore the game’s vast environments together.
Overall, Elden Ring offers a challenging and rewarding experience for players. Its open world design, fast-paced combat, and challenging boss battles make it a must-play for fans of action RPGs. With a deep and intriguing story, players will be drawn into the game’s world and will want to uncover the secrets of the Elden Ring.

nothing in this game was as brutal as the moment when my son saw me fighting malenia and started cheering for malenia

I was never ever interested in souls like games until I opened my eyes and played Elden Ring.
An arduous and gratifying journey from a Tarnished to an Elden Lord.

I have spent hours in both the base game and DLC. Here are my thoughts.
I am in no way a hardcore player. This is the only game I have ever played by this company. This game pissed me off so much because I didn't understand that is was out the box a difficult game.
I have since then completed 100% of the achievements and got through the DLC. The DLC is rough but if you you just want to progress and beat bosses with ease, there are options. Spirit summons, youtube cheese videos.
I enjoy exploring. I love the graphics and sometimes I want the challenge of a boss. However I have completed the game made it enjoyable on my terms and don't care if I don't kill the boss without a summons. I don't get paid to play games, so I take advantage of everything I can find and do in the game to go from point A to B.
I recommend the Base game and the DLC. I looked at the DLC as how can I defeat and cheese the new bosses. Not how do I learn the mechanics so people will know I am a good player. I just don't care, I want to beat the game start to finish. If I can do this and I am not a good player, then spend the money and beat it your way in anyway you see fit.

I learned a lot from this game.
How to be patient, how to manage anger, and how to control myself.
Thank you Elden Ring, my life is now so much better.

Oh boy, where do I even start with Elden Ring? Imagine a game where the devs were like, "Let's make every blade of grass deadly." You step into this gorgeous world, thinking, "This looks like a chill spot for a picnic," only to realize the picnic's actually your wake.
The graphics? Chef's kiss. It's like you're inside a Van Gogh painting, but every stroke wants to off you. The landscapes are so stunning, you'll forget to breathe – until you fall off a cliff.
Combat in Elden Ring isn't about skill; it's about how many times you can bash your head against a wall before you get it right. Every boss fight feels like they've got a personal beef with you. They're just there to mock your sad attempts at living. (git gud)
The lore? Man, it's deep. So deep you'd need a submarine to get to the bottom of it. And just when you think you've got it, some NPC comes along with a backstory that could be its own book. Good luck figuring out the story; it's like doing a puzzle blindfolded.
But here's the thing: despite all the pain, the frustration, the "I'm uninstalling this" moments, you can't help but love it. There's something about Elden Ring that pulls you back, like a moth to a flame, or a player to their doom.
100/10 for me - would die over and over again. Elden Ring isn't just a game; it's a way of life. A life of pain, beauty, and the occasional scream into the abyss. If you want something that'll test your patience, your skill, and your swear-word collection, this is it.

Cute little indie game. There's a few cool hats and a nice horse. You can make friends with several charming characters and you can even farm (souls from fingers on the roots of an eldritch tree within an infernal mist) if you like. Perhaps one of the prettiest games I've played in a long time. Still, I have nightmares about the little men who play brass instruments, and I can never find the sewer. It's quite like Stardew Valley in that they both have a hidden sewer level.

Cant remember the last time I could get so lost in a game's world. Absolutely beautiful. For those of you like me who enjoy comparing stats on your loot and figuring out the best build for the right situation, this is the pinnacle.
The ONLY thing I would caution is that if you have a life, kids, etc. this game might suck 600+ hours of your life like it did me.
Thumbs way way up
