How to use teleport in Lethal Company

In the horrifying game Lethal Company, players must land their spaceship on mysterious planets and explore local facilities infested with monsters in order to collect scrap metal. Newcomers initially have to travel on foot from the spaceship to the facilities and back, but eventually, they gain access to a teleportation system.

It is important to note that Lethal Company features two types of teleporters: the "regular" teleporter and the inverse teleporter. The key distinction lies in the fact that the regular teleporter transports the player back to the spaceship, while the inverse teleporter instantly places the player inside a building. The regular teleporter is gray, whereas the inverse teleporter is bright yellow—both devices are visible in the attached image.

How to Obtain a Teleporter

The only way to acquire a regular or inverse teleporter in Lethal Company is to purchase them from the in-game store. They come at a considerable cost, so players may need to survive several days, scavenging resources before being able to afford one. Once enough credits are accumulated, players can interact with the terminal on their spaceship, type the word "store," and press Enter. Scrolling down reveals the teleporter and inverse teleporter under the "ship upgrades" section, as depicted in the image. The costs in Lethal Company currency are as follows:

  • Regular Teleporter: 375 credits
  • Inverse Teleporter: 425 credits

If players decide to proceed, they should enter the name of the desired item ("teleporter" or "inverse teleporter") and press Enter. Typing "confirm" finalizes the purchase, revealing the teleporter behind them with an operational button on the nearby desk.

How to Use the Regular Teleporter

The regular teleporter in Lethal Company operates as follows: when a player presses the red button on the desk, another player is teleported back to the spaceship, to a safe zone. To select a player, ensure that they are being monitored on the screen using the white button. Naturally, the regular teleporter is less useful in solo mode since there is no other player to operate the device while the user is inside the facilities.

After teleporting a player, a ten-second timer initiates, after which the teleporter can be used again. It's essential to consider that teleportation results in the loss of all items, including store-bought equipment, making it advisable to use teleportation as a last resort.

How to Use the Inverse Teleporter

As previously mentioned, the Lethal Company inverse teleporter functions oppositely to the regular teleporter, instantly transporting players from the spaceship directly into a building. Since the exact location is random, players may find themselves near various adversaries within the Lethal Company universe.

To take a chance with the inverse teleporter, players can press the yellow button on the desk and step inside the yellow teleportation device—this only works after landing on a planet. Unlike the regular teleporter, there is no need for another player to operate this device. However, it is crucial to be cautious, as teleporting solo might lead to ending up in a locked room with no means of escape.

Considering the high risk, it is recommended to use the inverse teleporter in conjunction with the regular one, allowing a teammate traversing the inverse teleporter to be teleported back in case of landing in a precarious situation. A piece of advice: view the inverse teleporter as a fun addition to the game rather than a practical one, as one should not expect to manipulate this device and walk away with additional loot.
