What ChatGPT says about Elden Ring:
Elden Ring is a highly anticipated action role-playing game (RPG) developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game is directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, the creator of the popular Dark Souls series, and features an open world environment, fast-paced combat, and challenging boss battles.
Players take on the role of a custom-created character known as a “Follower” who sets out on a journey to discover the truth behind the Elden Ring, a powerful artifact that has been shattered and is causing chaos throughout the world. Along the way, players will explore a variety of different regions, each with their own unique enemies and bosses.
One of the key features of Elden Ring is its open world design. Players are free to explore the game’s vast environments, which range from dense forests and rugged mountains to dark caves and abandoned ruins. As players explore, they will come across a variety of enemies, including giant beasts, undead soldiers, and powerful bosses. These enemies will require players to use a combination of weapons and magic to defeat.
Combat in Elden Ring is fast-paced and requires quick reflexes and careful timing. Players have access to a variety of weapons, including swords, axes, hammers, and bows. Each weapon has its own unique moveset and can be customized with different gems to enhance their abilities. Players also have access to magic spells, which can be used to deal damage, heal, or provide other benefits.
As players defeat enemies and complete objectives, they will earn experience points that can be used to level up their character and improve their abilities. Players will also find new weapons and equipment throughout the game. It is important to manage the inventory and choose the right equipment depending on the situation.
Players will also encounter a variety of challenging boss battles throughout their journey. These bosses are powerful and require players to use all of their skills and abilities to defeat them. Some bosses also have multiple phases, with different attack patterns and weaknesses. It will be important for players to learn the patterns of the boss and react accordingly.
Elden Ring also features a co-op multiplayer mode, which allows players to join together and take on the game’s challenges as a team. In this mode, players can summon one another to help with tough battles or explore the game’s vast environments together.
Overall, Elden Ring offers a challenging and rewarding experience for players. Its open world design, fast-paced combat, and challenging boss battles make it a must-play for fans of action RPGs. With a deep and intriguing story, players will be drawn into the game’s world and will want to uncover the secrets of the Elden Ring.

Let me start off be saying this game is phenomenal. Elden Ring is nothing short of a masterpiece. From the moment you step into the lands between, the game captivates you with its vast, mysterious open world that rewards curiosity and exploration at every turn. The art style and immersive atmosphere of a usual Fromsoftware game combined with a extremely massive world makes for one hell of an experience. When you play Elden Ring you can see the passion, soul and effort they put in to it. They took everything they learned from previous titles and expanded on it.
My biggest issue with the game are the side quests. I don't mind not having a quest log to follow but it's literally impossible not to miss quests or mess others up by progressing too far without a guide and even with a guide it's still convoluted. I think Fromsoft got too used to their games being linear where you would likely find the NPC again and pretty soon at that. Elden Ring's format makes it not only very difficult to stumble upon them again you constantly risk breaking side quests by talking to the wrong people, killing a boss in the wrong order, or even just opening some other quest before you were "supposed" to.
An average Fromsoft quest is like you find a wizard in the middle of nowhere and they tell you some gibberish like “follow the forsaken path” then you’re expected to find a secret chest in some swamp area that leads you to a note that assumes you’ll know how to go back to. Then you have to talk to an NPC 3 more times in 3 different locations to complete the quest. Then you find their corpse slumped over on a rock... It’s mind numbing.
Another problem are the boss fights some of them have long and aggressive combos without any means to counter them without taking dmg except to move far away and let them finish their 5+ hit combo. Bosses like this are more suitable for Sekiro fight mechanics as defending against them doesn't consume stamina and is also another way of offense against them as well. Sekiro has the most refined combat system they’ve ever made, and if Fromsoft wanted Elden Ring’s bosses to be as fast as Sekiro, they should’ve allowed for the deflect/visible stamina mechanic to be utilized.
Elden Ring is one of my favorite Fromsoft games to date. Exploring the lands between for the first time was the best experience in gaming i’ve ever had. But thinking of replaying it's quite a chore due to the sheer size of it, especially after just finishing it. The game needs either something like the bonfire ascetics from DS2 or the boss refight and boss rush from Sekiro. I don't want a reward or anything. I wouldn't even care if you didn't get runes. Just the option of redoing bosses without replaying the entire damn game would be a huge benefit.

I got Elden Ring as a Christmas present from my big brother, which was a pretty bold choice since it was my first souls-like. At first it felt like the game was personally offended by my existence, and I died… a lot. Like, A LOT. I’m pretty sure some bosses knew me on a first-name basis.
Somehow I crawled through everything, and now I’ve beaten New Game +8, collected basically everything, and yeah… the game is super easy. Totally relaxing experience. Definitely didn’t spend hours getting impaled, flattened, burned, and launched into the air like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ragdoll before I finally understood the patterns.
The funny part is my brother still hasn’t even beaten the DLC, so at this point I’m not sure if this was a gift or some kind of challenge he set up for me. Either way, CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.
Great game, brutal at times, but insanely satisfying once you get into it. Would definitely recommend.
GIT GUD!

Countless standard playthroughs, countless numbers of Convergence mod playthroughs and hours spent on fashion and cosplaying characters with different builds, and yet I still find myself coming back to this game after nearly 4 years. 10/10

i dreamed of never touching any soul related games ever. I know they are difficult and drives people nuts. I saw kai cenat's marathon, and i hated the potfriends meme and emote. but one day, someone gave it to me, and I had to accept it. it was then, i have accepted my fate to become the elden lord. 130+ hours later, i finished the DLC, and I must say, I was 3+ years late to the hype. I am now a soul game addict.
