Yomawari: Midnight Shadows
The follow-up to 2016’s cult horror hit Yomawari: Night Alone, Yomawari: Midnight Shadows introduces two brand-new girls, Yui and Haru, to the night and the spirits who haunt it. Separated by a mysterious attacker, each girl will explore haunting locations, face the terrors of the night, and test their courage and wits to survive and reconnect with one another.

The gameplay definitely has its flaws especially during boss fights but the atmosphere and story more than made up for that!
Although I struggled during some parts all in all I still very much enjoyed playing.
And without spoiling I'm gonna say the ending did something really incredible that genuinely made me clench my teeth

The first game was a bit hard to recommend, but they improved everything and made this one excellent. I can actually recommend playing the first one now, as this one has some good references and brings back a few familiar locations. It's not perfect, but it is very good. there's some trial-and-error, unskippable cutscenes and parts that can feel unfair. Also a few meanly hidden items. However, these are infrequent issues and most of the time the game is very enjoyable.

Why this game always made me cry ;_;

Not as good as the first game, but still very atmospheric and fun. A couple distant saves and other little issues but they don't detract that much from this awesome horror game. I'd still recommend Night Alone over this one but if you already played the first or want a more quick paced spook time pick this up.
Whoever designed the boss battle in the manor deserves to have a bloody chair broken over their fucking head though.

Cute, dark and scary !!
Same as previously Yomawari: Night Alone this is a good piece. >.^b
Gameplay objective become more clear and less bug.
Still alot of cheap death and jump scare.
You have a dog to accompany you hence its less lonely. But i do hope less dead dog on starting story from developer >_<

Midnight Shadows is the second game in the Yomawari series, and it sets out to improve and expand the first game, a task which I think it mostly succeeds at. The game sports a more detailed art style, larger game world, and a larger variety in it's locations and puzzles. It also does a great job with it's atmosphere, sort of building a "You're never safe out here." kind of vibe, the designs of the spirits are also nice, as they're both scary and well defined. The gameplay is the same as it's predecessor, expect for two key differences. First, there are more enemy types, your character's sprint is slower than it was in the last game, but that's exchanged for the stamina bar being expanded, you also get an item that increases it further which is nice. Don't get me wrong though, you'll still be dying a lot, sometimes unfairly. Midnight Shadows also features multiple boss fight segments, for some reason? Some of them are fun but there are a couple that are super frustrating, especially when the game places the save point about a 30 second walk before the sequence. There's also one are in particular that has some cheap deaths that you'll only see coming after dying at least once. The game's story is pretty good, it has a lot more meat on it's bones than the first, I actually found myself invested by the games finale. Overall, Midnight Shadows is a tighter experience than the original, if not still flawed, and it's a good horror experience for about 6.5 hours.
