True Fear: Forsaken Souls Part 2
True Fear: Forsaken Souls Part 2 is the sequel to one of the best rated
horror escape games, acclaimed for its story and the atmosphere of
horror mystery.
Holly Stonehouse followed the clues from her old family house to finally
arrive at the Dark Falls Asylum and again see that someone was there
before her, waiting for her. However this time she is no longer a
spectator and what follows her is no longer just a shadow - the danger
is real as the Asylum comes alive at night. Collecting clues, going
through notes and photographs, unlocking devious puzzles and
constructing complex chains of adventure actions, help Holly escape the
night and find the answers. Was her mother crazy or was there really
another sister? Did her mother commit suicide? How could Dahlia “come
back” after the fire and who or what is the terrifying thing that Holly
saw at Heather's house and that kept following her ever since?

When will episode 3 come???

It's tough to review this one, the game feels like filler until part 3. Puzzles are pretty easy except the shower puzzle which didn't make any sense to me since I got the right combo but it didn't work the first couple of times. The story doesn't progress much from the 1st episode.
It doesn't have the traditional hidden object scenes where you gotta find a dozen miscellaneous objects in a scene, instead it has puzzle scenes which to be fair make more sense, but I like the basic find stuff scenes.
I feel this chapter dragged on a bit, at the end there were too many locations open and some of the objects to be used were in the inventory for far far too long. And stuff hidden in walls, I hate that, I just don't think to check dirty walls for objects.
Fingers crossed for Chapter 3 coming out this year, and being as good as Chapter 1 and bringing a satisfactory end to the story.

This game elevates the hidden object puzzles format by having avoiding the typical find random objects in a scene. I did feel like I was taken out of the action but being shown a completely random scene but the same environment I'm in and organically sifting through the debris.
Also what took me by surprise was the game length. Usually games like this can take about 2-3 hours to complete and I was surprised when I was getting close to the 6 hour mark and hadn't quite reached the end so make sure you got a good chunk of time if you are planing a one session play through.
One down side is that the game map is huge and has you back tracking a lot if you are like me and try to use items as soon as you find them rather than waiting for the right time. They do balance this out by allowing fast travel via your map which does save you a ton of time.
I recommend new players avoid the expert difficulty until their second play through, expert is for those who have already finished the game a few times.

Liked this game a lot. I can see that the game developers really put a lot of thoughts and passion into creating something that a true fan of the genre can enjoy. Good job!
