I thoroughly enjoyed the game - even though some of the puzzles were quite hard, they were logical - I liked the story with all its twists, and this was the first adventure game where I managed to get all the achievements - albeit some of them going back to old saves after finishing the game - I played this as group play on Senscape server on Discord and had help along the way - I played with a combination of mouse and controller - the controller helped in finding the hotspots

I can't fully recommend the remastered version because while it does look better when it _works_, the new lighting bugs out more often than not on lower settings, making the it look worse than in the original, and it's not well optimized - that said, the original (which looks fine and runs better) is included when purchasing the remaster, so the recommendation stands.
a finely plotted and more modern experience for agatha christie lovers that enjoyed the and then there were none, murder on the orient express and evil under the sun trilogy developed by the adventure game company (who also worked on this one!). zellner is no poirot but that doesn't mean he's without charms. the constable is as reliable and resourceful as he's witty, and the rest of the cast follows suit. no other relatively recent game scratches the same agatha christie itch as this one does.

The Raven Remastered is an improved and polished version of the original game, with enhancements to graphics, audio, and user interface. These updates make for a more enjoyable and immersive gaming experience. Players who enjoyed the original The Raven may find the Remastered version a worthy revisit, while new players can experience the game with the benefit of these improvements.
Here is my review to the original game:
The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief is a thrilling adventure game that takes players on a captivating journey full of mystery, suspense and intrigue. This title offers a classic point-and-click experience, delivering a story-driven narrative that keeps you engaged from start to finish.
The game's strongest asset is its compelling plot. Set in the 1960s, you take on the roll of Anton Jakob Zellner, a lovable and somewhat bumbling constable with a keen interest in mystery novels. When a valuable gem, known as the Eye of the Sphinx, goes missing, you're thrust into a world of crime and conspiracy aboard a luxurious cruise ship.
One of the standout features of The Raven is its rich character development. The cast of characters is diverse and memorable, and each plays a central role in the unfolding narrative. The voice acting is top-notch, bringing these characters to life with authenticity and depth.
The gameplay primarily consists of exploration, puzzle-solving and conversations with NPCs. The puzzles are overall well-crafted and require you to use your wits and pay attention to details. However, it's worth noting that the puzzles are generally not overly difficult, allowing the story to remain the central focus.
Visually, the game captures the essence of its time period with beautifully designed environments, character models and attention to detail. The audio design complements the atmosphere with a dramatic and evocative soundtrack that heightens the suspense and drama of the story.
While The Raven offers a captivating and intriguing narrative, it also has its small weaknesses. Some players may find the pacing inconsistent, as the story occasionally takes time to build momentum. Additionally, there are moments when the game could benefit from a more polished and modern user interface and controls.

Pretty good adventure game with some twists and turns. Some of the 'find the small thing' was pretty annoying.
There are never too many items so it is easy to figure out what you have to do but it is worth it for the story.
I had issues running it on Linux - it would sometimes not start and freeze the computer - few times in a row sometimes.
