About the GameAt the start of his summer vacation, Vir, an aspiring artist finds out that his father has suffered losses in their farm and his college fund is at stake.
Embark on his quest to earn money by farming, fishing, managing a chai shop and using his talent for weaving lost stories into art.
Features:
- Beautifully painted 2D top-down graphics
- Narrative choice-driven artwork creation system
- Emotional historical stories from royal India
- Farm-sim, Indian cooking, and quest based mechanics
The unique mechanic in this game takes the branching narrative style of storytelling and applies it to create paintings inspired by Indian miniature art.
The paintings, each depicting a particular event in history, are strung together to form a story of the past.
Each painting can have a myriad of possible combinations of choices which helps in creating a unique experience for each player.

This is so good, literally the best indian game i've played like ever and the full game is even better. Though it still lacks some story aspects, it's still amazing

This first taste of The Palace on the Hill has been a relaxing 1.5 hour of gameplay. As an European, I've found the Indian setting refreshing, and I'm excited to see more diversity in games in this respect. The hand-drawn artistic style, although a little rudimentary at times, is beautiful.
The complete game might be a good choice for fans of the cozy genre, but also for players looking for a culturally-enriching experience. I am both, so I look forward to buying it in the future (once I have played other games of my backlog first!).
