Short interesting puzzle game with a bit of a creepy atmosphere.
I highly recommend you do not just go to the guide section of the game to cheat fly through the levels.
The game is actually a bit too easy as I flew through it in 45 mins.
There are only 30 levels, and I got the game on sale for a $1.
I wouldn't really pay any more that $2-$3 as the game is repetitive, short, and has zero replay value.
BUT...I did have fun with it...
6 / 10 ...on a deep sale

Great little puzzle game with a nice theme and a tactical dark mode so your eyes won’t burn into oblivion. It’s short (~30 mins), so grab it at a discount!

THE IMPOSSIBLE, developed by IMPOSSIBLE INC and Airem, stands out as a fascinating and inventive puzzle game that challenges players with its clever manipulation of perspective and geometry. At first glance, the game’s minimalist art style might suggest a simple experience, but beneath this clean and understated exterior lies a world filled with intricate optical illusions and mind-bending puzzles. The core gameplay revolves around guiding a small square through levels constructed with impossible shapes and structures that seem to defy the basic laws of physics. This creates a compelling sense of wonder as players explore environments reminiscent of Escher’s famous artwork, where what looks like an insurmountable obstacle can suddenly become a pathway, simply by shifting perspective.
The controls are straightforward and intuitive, allowing players to focus on the puzzle-solving aspect without getting bogged down in complicated mechanics. Whether using a keyboard, gamepad, or mouse, the movement feels fluid, encouraging experimentation. This is important in a game where the challenge lies in seeing the environment from different angles and unlocking hidden routes that at first seem inaccessible. The simplicity of the input is cleverly contrasted by the complexity of the puzzles themselves, which progressively demand more creative thinking and sharper observation skills. The minimalist sound design complements the visual experience perfectly, featuring calm, ambient music that enhances concentration without becoming a distraction.
What truly sets THE IMPOSSIBLE apart is how it plays with perception in a way that feels fresh and innovative. Each level presents a unique brain teaser that requires players to suspend their understanding of traditional spatial logic. The game forces you to question what you see and how you interact with the environment, often revealing solutions only when viewing the scene from a very specific angle or in a non-intuitive way. This constant redefinition of what’s possible keeps the gameplay engaging and prevents it from ever becoming repetitive. Additionally, the game introduces an IQ scoring system at the end of each level, providing players with feedback on their problem-solving skills and encouraging replayability. Striving to improve your score adds another layer of motivation, appealing to those who enjoy mastering a challenge rather than simply completing it.
Beyond the puzzles themselves, THE IMPOSSIBLE is thoughtfully designed with features that enrich the overall experience. Support for multiple languages broadens its accessibility, allowing players from various regions to fully immerse themselves in the game without language barriers. Compatibility with different screen resolutions, including ultrawide monitors, ensures that the game’s visual clarity and puzzle layouts remain pristine regardless of the hardware used. Steam achievements and cloud saves further contribute to a polished user experience, making it easy to pick up where you left off and giving additional goals to chase beyond the main gameplay.
Though it draws inspiration from other perspective-based puzzle games such as Monument Valley and Echochrome, THE IMPOSSIBLE carves out its own identity through its distinctive approach to optical illusions and minimalist design. The game strikes a delicate balance between art and challenge, encouraging players not only to solve puzzles but also to appreciate the creativity behind the game’s construction. This makes it appealing not only to puzzle enthusiasts but also to those who enjoy games that challenge their perception and thinking in novel ways. Overall, THE IMPOSSIBLE offers a richly rewarding experience that cleverly toys with visual perception and spatial reasoning, delivering a captivating journey through a world where the impossible suddenly becomes possible.

The game is a short and enjoyable experience, it plays with your expectations a little too. The puzzles can be infuriating or something you see and just 'get,' though I feel the difficulty is a little all over the place rather than a steady ramp up. This was something I confirmed after playing through by checking walkthroughs, the step counts were pretty variable for the most efficient routes.
The character of Patch is a good addition, and it could have had more added. There seems to be promise of more content in the future, but as it stands currently I mostly wish our friend spoke more often, with idle phrases if the puzzle is going on for too long. Still, they are very convincing for what they aim to be, I think.
I won't uninstall you, Patch o7

A delightful title indeed! It's a fun and quirky experience, especially with Patch’s voice—his commentary during the breaks adds a lot of charm. The humor really shines through, and it's always amusing to see such unique attempts in gameplay.
The puzzles themselves can be quite tricky, though I guess that might just be me—some players may find them more approachable. But if you enjoy a challenge, this game delivers! Definitely worth giving a try, especially if you’re up for something different. Enjoy the 6-way experience, it’s a good one!

Awesome but short little puzzle game. Really took me by surprise. I started out playing this game using a guide for a quick 100%, but stayed for the story and atmosphere!
