The Citadel
THE CITADEL is a hardcore, brutal old-school shooter full of action that's a throwback to the 90's classics that we all love. Fight through 6 Episodes of 30 action packed levels (and an additional 6 secret levels). Face off against 6 fearsome bosses. Carry 14 different types of weapons, with obliterating secondary fire functions. Make the world tremble with 3 types of single-use special weapons. ・Unlimited Continues. ・You can continue trying until you break. Hub areas serve as respite if you find the episode to be too difficult. ・Completely skill based: no cheap Hitscanner, all projectiles. You live as good as you dodge. ・Huge enemy variety and diversity. From axe throwing cultists, to suicide drones, to mecha tanks, and flamethrower troopers.

People somehow think doekuramori being into guro is a bad thing. Wouldn't you trust the quality of a product more knowing that the creator is probably getting off to it? The game's great!

To be honest,
I have played DOOM since the first one. The old DOOM, The OG DOOM.
All i can said about this game, it's a noble successor to DOOM.
Simple story, great graphic and style, neat guns.
Love it.
The game run well and just got 2 crashs that wasn't really annoying (just surprising) and a few ennemis stuck in walls.
Other than that, it's a good game to have and play.

As a big fan of the Marathon classics, I noticed those games' overwhelming influence on The Citadel, which did here a great homage to them and in some aspects exceeds them in quality (and fun, the guns feel amazing to shoot). A modern classic.

Game sit in library for a while. Kinda forget about it. One day see YT thumbnail claiming game is "Gooner shooter". Reminds me that I have game and could not recall anything like that from promotional material in the store. Decide to play it. Play first level. Get to end of first level and need to go down long hole. Look down hole then notice you see your character when looking down. See da booba. Think it's not really that bad at all sense you really gotta look DOWN to see it all and it is completely covered up with no weird things protruding out. Think they were just over exaggerating and move on.
Hours pass and am having a lot of fun with game. Nothing on the "Gooner shooter" really catches my attention that would make me think that. Later notice I can do a slide if sprint then crouch. Cool a new mechanic I can use to spice up combat. Shortly after notice Player Character is not wearing pants at all while sliding. OOOOOH. Is literally wearing just a brown leather strap that goes from the breast plate, between thighs, then probably connects to the back. Yep that is pretty "Gooner". I definitely see it now.
Final boss room definitely was also an odd design choice considering none of the other bosses were designed anything like that visually. Another tick in the "Gooner shooter" direction.
Overall, I had fun playing this game. Very few complaints. Tutorial is kinda not a tutorial, but is functional. Finding the secret levels was fun and getting the cool unique upgrades from those secret levels was cool.
9/10 boomer shooter experience.
Will be playing the 2nd game soon.
Gooner scale:
12/100
If you are getting off to this, that is impressive but you really should seek mental help.

The more I play this game the more I love it. There are so many mechanic details and little things that make it wonderful. Not for the faint of hearth though. The Forgiver is the best for dealing with mechs and tanks :3 (Fun fact: some of Lysander's dialogue implies that the enemies are not all female, despite not having any way to tell. So just keep in mind that you slaughtering waifus AND femboys :3)
