The Beast Inside
The Beast Inside is a unique, gripping twist on thriller and survival horror. The game mixes intriguing story-driven adventure with unnerving survival horror experience. Immerse in the tale of long-buried secrets, personal tragedies, and madness. Play as two protagonists living in different centuries but bounded by dark heritage. Boston, 1979, Adam, the CIA cryptanalyst, leaves the city and moves to the countryside with his wife, Emma. His handlers are afraid they won’t be able to keep him safe there, but Adam believes he needs a peaceful place in the woodland, to take a shot at the military code. His work may alter the course of the Cold War. As it turns out, this area is quite the opposite of a peaceful place they have expected… In the attic Adam finds a mysterious diary written by a man called Nicolas Hyde, allegedly, a past resident of the same house who lived there in the 19th Century. Once opened, the diary carries the nightmares of the past right into Adam’s times, putting the lives of Adam and Emma in great danger. Density increases as these two stories come to an inevitable crash. Distant past and his eternal prisoner – Nicolas against Adam, cryptanalyst from the Cold War. What can it lead to? In tangled times, who will you trust?

What an Awesome game,
i find the beast inside one of those story games that i can't forget i had an incredible time playing it.
the storytelling is Amazing the idea of connecting the past and the present is truly impressive and well done, The ending actually shocked me, the voice acting is great, and the cutscenes are decent, though some of the cutscenes were unintentionally funny for me not gonna lie. but it’s an indie game, so I’m not complaining.
and oh man, the world building is just phenomenal and fantastic, in every part of this game i find myself staring at the Amazing world graphics that is full with details.
If you can catch it on a discount and it does go for about $2 sometimes. I’d highly recommend picking it up. It’s an unforgettable game that’s well worth your time

I would not call it a survival horror, it's more like a story driven adventure game with horror elements.
The gameplay is fine, the story keeps getting better and better despite a boring start.
The horror unfortunately mainly relies on jumpscares, which become predictable after a while.

The Beast Inside is a first-person horror game. The game puts you on the trail of an unsolved murder, yet it was made over a hundred years ago. Along the way, you will come across many mysteries, sometimes intriguing, sometimes scary.
We find a lot of influence for this game, starting with Penumbra / Amnesia for the interactions and puzzles, Alan Wake for the investigation phases in broad daylight and the horrific phases at night, and also Outlast or Alien Isolation for the detector.
After all these references, does the game have its own identity? Absolutely, the scenario is really good, quickly we expect something close to the movie Shutter Island, where everything is only in the head of the protagonist but in fact not completely, there is much more reality than we think. The technique is correct, the gameplay is really varied and very good, between phases of investigations, puzzles, day, night where we stress and freak out a lot thanks to the atmosphere, phases where we have to escape our pursuers, the sound design is very good. The game ends in about ten hours but if you want to see the different endings, count about twenty hours (because the game does not have a chapter selection which could tire more than one).

Overall a great game if you can get it on sale. I got it for $3 dollars. I would be happy to pay $8 or less for this game. The game has a decent story and interactions instead of just having the basic popup scares and chases. The puzzles can be a bit challenging but never less i was happy with this game!

"Sometimes, the past is best left undisturbed. But what if it catches up with us?" Adam Stevenson
Unfortunately that's a general truth,it's better to leave the past behind..but what happens when we can't?
I didn't know much about this game,i remember seeing a few screenshots on a friend feed and that was enough to make me buy it..and it turns out to be one of my best purchases here on steam. In my review i'll try to share my experience i had and the reasons why i believe this is a great game.
The Beast Inside is a psychological thriller game with elements of survival, puzzle solving and first person exploration. Featuring historical fiction and mystery our adventure starts with Adam and his wife at their new house uncovering the secrets and the dangers lurking around. Nicolas Hyde is a mysterious figure discovered through a diary that Adam finds in the present day. This sets the stage for a dual timeline style of game with two protagonists and the start of a dark and tragic story. One timeline features puzzle solving and exploration while the other offers more traditional survival horror gameplay, including evading enemies and managing limited resources.
The graphics are great ,the forest and the interiors looks amazing, there is beautiful art everywhere and the notes and texts you find are interesting and worth your time to read them. Doing so will help you understand both the past and the present!
I don't want to offer too many details about the story, i personaly enjoyed it a lot even If it's a little predictabile. There is a new puzzle or gameplay mechanic in each chapter, the controls are easy and for my surprise i had to defeat a few bosses along the way.
For me this was a small bargain, because i got it on a sale..there are hidden gems like this on Steam and it feels good when you find one.
The developers didn't tried to achieve perfection in any way, but rather to please the gamer. In a way my verdict for this is the same..I didn't feel i was playing a triple AAA game or the best game ever but it left me searching on Google for games like The Beast Inside..thats how great it was!
I strongly recommend this excellent little horror to everyone,it feels like a cinematic experience and it's a better experience than most movies anyway.
Pros:
-Great narrative
-Great graphics,beautiful art
-Dual timelines, multiple endings
-Sound design,tense atmosphere
Cons
-Linear gameplay
My Scores

The Beast Inside is a great adventure, with tons of different situations and an interesting story. Bear in mind, though, it is not a survival horror, as it claims to be, although it does have some really good horror moments.
