Strategic Mind: The Pacific
Strategic Mind: The Pacific is a turn-based strategy set in the WW2 period depicting the war between the USA and the Empire of Japan waged in the Pacific Ocean with mindblowing historical accuracy and attention to detail. It offers an immersive experience of commanding both sides of the conflict, allowing you to gain a unique understanding of the situation through the eyes of both sides top commanders, resulting in enjoyable and insightful gameplay. Build up, train and equip your troops with the newest weaponry available to maximize their efficiency and set sail for victory. The core element of the game is large scale naval battles with numerous carrier ships bringing so much more aircraft into the battle for seizing the control over the ocean. Upon overtaking the sea you will have to set foot on hostile land through a series of costly landing operations.

Not for everyone, I'll say that right now. Clunky voice acting, clearly focused on unit models, etc.
BUUUUUUUUUUUUT I've literally beat all 5 in the series.
IDK what it is but this game series makes me feel akin to playing with army men when I was 5. Just a fascination with this monumental event that's so far beyond you - then taking control with some (REALLY amusing) historical "what ifs?" and it leads to an overall experience that I just love.
Playing as Imperial Japan invading the Panama Canal to ensure Japanese dominance in the Pacific? That's hilarous, I love it. Plalying as Finland and managing to gain sufficient force to counterattack against the Soviets all the way to Moscow? Love it.
It's absolutely a niche game but again - as someone who is very much in that niche & has basically every WWII strat. game on steam, I keep coming back to this one and it's wacky cousins. I'll leave it there.
P.S. If you like this, check out Headquarters WWII. Another really cool turn-based game. And Steel Division II if you want WWII RTS.

This is my all-time favorite game. I've played every game in the series and I keep coming back to replay this one. It has the perfect balance of simplicity for beginners, with more complex elements that you can discover and use as you gain more experience in the game for a richer experience.
I love this game and I wish the other games in this series had more naval combat like this one.

Great game. The campaign mode is challenging, it involves many strategic thinking how to move, what to buy, what technology to develop. Two nations units are not the same but well balanced

A little dull but I'd still recommend if you're into strategic WW2 naval stuff.
