The story of Cal Kestis continues in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor™, a third-person, galaxy-spanning, action-adventure game from Respawn Entertainment, developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. This narratively driven, single-player title picks up 5 years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order™ and follows Cal’s increasingly desperate fight as the galaxy descends further into darkness. Pushed to the edges of the galaxy by the Empire, Cal will find himself surrounded by threats new and familiar. As one of the last surviving Jedi Knights, Cal is driven to make a stand during the galaxy’s darkest times — but how far is he willing to go to protect himself, his crew, and the legacy of the Jedi Order?

I would like to thank whichever writer who thought it would be a good idea to make the main love interest of this game a hot goth space witch

The issue is not game-play, but optimisation and greed!
EDIT:
I am not trying to excuse the actions of the early release, but to only give my opinion on the GAME and what I personally believe has lead to the issues - no need to harbour hate...
Real talk:
I love Starwars and from this game you can tell the devs do as well.
However, despite all the passion which seems to be poured into this project, the game is poorly optimised for Pc's, resulting in even the best graphics cards struggling to hold their own against this game.
Personally I'm lucky to not be crashing on this game, but I do feel the low frame rates - especially when there are an increased amount of particle effects and when moving to different areas.
It feels as if the devs are using things like dlss as a crutch while they try to patch and optimise this game.
Its best to look beyond the devs and think who is actually to blame;
You have EA + Stakeholders wanting to profit from one of the worlds biggest passions (Starwars) who can easily go over the head of the developers and set a time and date for the game to release.
This has happened before with games like battlefront.
Just by watching the devs talk about this game you can see their passion and it makes you wonder whether they would actually release the game in the state it is in...
The game itself is a truly great experience, so don't let its state now ruin your perception of Starwars or halt you from playing in the future.
If you are here for a review of the actual game:
Combat - Very good, same as before but smoother + more ways to fight including different stances
Exploration - AMAZING - There are so many nooks and crannys to delve into and you never know what is round the next corner! Its much bigger than the previous game.
Customisation - This game has even more ways to personalise Cal (the main character) and of course the lightsaber and much more.
Misc - You can meet MANY People / Species acroiss the galaxy and even invite them to your home base.
You can play holotactics (holochess - let the wookie win!)
You can pet the boglings!
This game has great acting / voice acting and expands the Starwars lore, referencing things from Kenobi, having recognisable enemies form the Mandalorian and even stuff from Legends!
GAME: 9/10
OPTIMISATION: 3/10
DEVS: 9/10
BUSINESSMEN: BIN/10
If you enjoy Starwars, don't pass on this, perhaps wait until it is more stable however.

Alright. Time for a review.
The launch on this game has been absolutely horrible. Day-zero patch, day-one patch, none of 'em did nothing. My rig is running a 10-series i9 and a 4090 Suprim X GPU. Along with 64 GB ram that should be more then enough. However, it was not. Frames between 10 and 30 fps, with a resting 30-40 when in smaller areas, has been quite common for me. As others have noted, the framedrops appeared to happen when changing "zones" in maps, and not when there are many enemies, demanding light-sequences, etc. This made my initial experience a living nightmare, as some fights especially are depending on quick reactions. Try quicktiming a block with 10 fps.
This has been my experience, and it was horrible. I stared off into the sunset. I cried. I questioned my existence. I murdered people (in real life, as i couldn't kill anything in-game). Until 2 hours ago. Because then, a wild 3,3 GB patch appeared.
The game is now running smoothly at 150 fps. I have no lag whatsoever when changing zones or being in separation areas, and no issues with combat. Finally the game runs as it should. The story is great, gameplay is better. Combat is more immersive and diverse, and somehow the creators made the game in a way that gives you a ton of new skills and equipment as you play, while still letting you start off with the stuff you had in Fallen Order. Its legendary.
That sound too good to be true? Well, it kinda is, in a way. Cause i have one more thing to add. People have been reporting game crashes. I have had a total of two crashes in 19 hours, until this patch appeared. Now I've had 9 crashes in 19 minutes. However, the reason I'm saving this for last and don't really care that much is that the crashes are completely connected the archive base on Jedha. This is a small area, and not one you have to spend much time in. It is, however, quite critical when you do have to go there. As things stand now, i have to reboot the game once or twice to get in, deliver a quest and get back out again. The crashes always happen upon entering or exiting the area, not while inside. So until they fix that... well. I can deal with that.
All in all, it's a great game, and if you're way too obsessed with this game the way that I am, i'd chance buying it now :) If you have self-control (self-respect...?) you might want to wait a bit more, but I'm pretty confident that the next patch will fix the remaining serious issues for most people.
TLDNR: Game bad then. Game much gooder now. Game goodest next week ish. Caveman out.

First area ran horribly, especially for an RTX 3070. Gameplay goes hard though, pick it up on sale, or when the performance improves.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor is a very good action/adventure game, it is the sequel to Jedi Fallen Order and continues the story some time after the end of the first one. We still follow the story of Cal Kestis, 5 years after the first opus, the crew is separated in the galaxy and you will be again embarked in a new story with many twists. The game is also very interested in the High Republic era and makes many references to the extended universe. There are very good action sequences and the cinematics are also very well done, the character development is also very good.
The game is very similar to the previous one but with a huge improvement on all levels. The main problem of the previous game which was for me the level design is really better in this one, especially thanks to the fast travel that avoids you to get lost while trying to reach your next objective.
For the combat, they have also been greatly improved with now 5 lightsaber stances that each have their own skill tree. The exploration is a real pleasure, the addition of the grappling hook adds a real plus to the game, the annex areas are much larger with this very numerous and varied item/skin to loot. The bestiary is also very complete with different creatures for each planet, new enemies for the empire and a new faction using old separatist droids.
The character customization has also been greatly improved, you can now modify the hairstyle, the beard as well as the top, the jacket and the pants with many color variations. The saber customization is the best we have had so far in a star wars game in my opinion and is even more advanced than in fallen order.
There is also a "hub" with a shop where you can buy various things and a saloon where you can unlock some nice stuff while exploring the planets.
In conclusion, this game is a must play for all star wars fans. If you liked the previous one, you can only like this one, as mentioned above it's like the first one but with a clear improvement in all the gameplay. If you didn't play the first one, you won't understand much of the story, there is a little recap but the best is to do fallen order first.
