Story
A struggle between the Inter Galactic Corporation (a.k.a The Federation), which controls the entire galaxy, and the Rebels continues. You assume the role of John, a simple private space-pilot in the service of the Federation. Well.. the word “pilot” might be an overstatement. John’s ship AI – which he calls “Ellie” – takes almost all control of the ship. The space battles are coordinated by Motherships and “pilots” serve the mere role of the shooters (as the AI can’t ‘kill’).
IGC is about to turn the tide of the war but an accident happens. Your Mothership is blown up into pieces which makes Ellie go crazy. It puts John into hibernation and wakes him up several years later in a completely different setting. What really happened? What is the AI up to?
Will the two – John and Ellie – change the fate of the Universe?
Experience fast action, thrilling levels, spectacular explosions and lots of pew-pew-pew. Star Horizon is a reboot for the on-rails space shooter genre.

Overally good game, aiming system is a little bit strange at the beggining but when you get used to it, you can have a lot of fun playing this title. Some of the dialogs are kind of annoying and too long, but gameplay and visuals compensate that. What I really like is the speed - you don't have time to get bored. I am not a pro player, so I also found this game kind of challenging.
To sum up - nice shooter to unwind for a while after work.

Welcome to ultimate rip-off. Space battles "on rails" like in Star Wars:The Old Republic with typical story, where main villain possess Terminator personality, quotes Borg collective and have weakness like Death Star. Game for 2 hours, but at least they were not boring.
Buy when it will be cheaper. 7/10.

Ok, my word on Star Horizon.
Casual Space Shooter on Rails with cool features like ship to upgrade and few decidions to be made. Controls are strange at the beginning, but are enjoyable when you get used to them (Honestly, I don't see other way to handle aiming). Star Horizon is a fun way to spend some time during a work or study break. I can honestly recommend it to all casual players. Go and have some fun with it!

This is a very Starfox / Panzers Dragoon style game. Enjoyable game play. Great graphics. Some audio that repeats saying could be lessened in frequency, but that's not a game breaking issue. I would recommend this game.

Simple arcade game, but I enjoyed it a lot. Graphics fine for me. Spend some time playing and game wasn't boring. Shooter "on rails" is not my favourite type of game but it is "on rails" so let it be.
Plus:
- simple and fun arcade game
- nice graphics with fine effects
- fine music/sound/fx
- just brilliant DLC with soundtrack!!! Amazing music I can hear in my car all time long!!!
- interesting story behind
- nice try to balance level of gameplay
- upgrades
Minus:
- steering ported directly from mobile version, not exactly good for PC game
- some places in the game that might be very annoying
- not possible to change steering keys through settings which is very difficult because I'm "left handed"
- as I read some problems with PADs might occur
- you're buying fun only for few hours
Overall rating: 7/10
Price/quality: 9/10

It's understandable why people would instantly compare this with Star Fox, the game that took on-rails space shooter to the next level back in the 90 's. But Star Horizon, despite being an on-rails shooter, controls and feels very different from Star Fox.
Star Horizon is a port of a mobile game, and was originally meant to be played with your finger on the screen, the ship itself works like an aiming reticule, so you need to have your ship aligned with the enemy to hit them, this, in the mobile phone, means you kinda have to hit the enemies with your finger, while in Star Fox the aiming reticule looks like it's far in front of your ship, in Star Horizon it feels like it's very close to your ship, so the ship moves instantly in relation to the aiming reticule, while in Star Fox, there's a visible delay and the ship is not always necessarily at the same spot on the screen where the reticule is.
Once you get that, you'll start enjoying this game for what it is, an on-rail shooter of it's own, and not just a Star Fox clone like you might have thought at first.
The thing is, while the main weapons are not very effective like in Star Fox, you have the secondary weapon called swarm rockets, guided projectiles that works kinda like the ones in panzer dragoon, and you don't need to lock on enemies, they follow automatically, this makes the game much more enjoyable and you'll rely on these more than the main weapon!
You also have the plasma rockets, a very strong guided shot that you need to lock on enemies, and need some time to be recharged before you can use it again, perfect for bosses.
You'll be graded after each mission and receive points based in your skills, you can then use these points to upgrade your ship between missions.
The story is silly, the choices you make between missions only changes some dialog during cut scenes or make you fight/avoid some boss fights. But the stages are always the same, in the same sequence, it's a very linear game, it's definitely not like Star Fox 64 with all those branching paths if that's what you're expecting, but it's fun nonetheless.
It's worth mentioning that the ship has an evasive maneuver, but honestly, it doesn't help at all, it's a barrel roll, but seems to serve no purpose other than being stylish, because it never seems to deflect any enemy shot.
On-rails space shooters are a rarity these days, we should thank the devs for trying to revive it! Star Horizon, although not perfect by any stretch, is a very good effort. If you like on-rail shooters check it out.

It's a fun casual game. Thought it was gonna be more like Starfox. It's still good though. The aiming is kinda weird, but you just have to fly the ship in the right spot. Some people say the voice acting is cheesy, but I thought it was pretty funny. It's a good price if you get it half off.
