There is unease in the demonic astral plain these days. The Nothern king is dead, and the prince is about to rise to the throne. But he is a strange silent lad. Human commoners (like me) have nothing to do with the local intrigue. Yet…somehow I am now in the very epicenter of this revolution?! Having made a contract with a suspicious demon…I just want to go home! Or in the very least, survive this mess. So please… tell me something!
* Several different endings
* Atmospheric locations
* Plot twists
* Plenty of romantic scenes

Sounds of Verity is a fantasy otome visual novel developed by Violet Feature and published by Vorobushek that blends romance, political intrigue, and supernatural mystery into a choice-driven narrative. Rather than focusing on combat or action-oriented gameplay, it delivers an experience centered on storytelling, relationships, and meaningful decisions. The premise immediately captures attention by transporting an ordinary young woman into a dangerous world inhabited by demons and rival factions, where every choice influences both her personal fate and the future of an unstable kingdom.
The narrative begins after the death of the northern king, an event that throws the astral realm into uncertainty. As the kingdom prepares for a silent prince to ascend the throne, hidden conspiracies and growing unrest threaten to plunge the land into chaos. The protagonist unexpectedly becomes entangled in these events after entering a contract with a mysterious demon, forcing her to survive in an unfamiliar world filled with deception and shifting alliances. The story effectively balances political drama with personal struggles, allowing players to experience both the larger conflict and the emotional consequences of their decisions.
A major strength of the game lies in its branching storyline. Dialogue choices shape relationships, unlock different scenes, and determine which ending players ultimately receive. Every route offers new perspectives on the central conflict while revealing additional details about the characters and the world they inhabit. This structure gives the visual novel considerable replay value, encouraging players to revisit earlier chapters to uncover alternate paths, hidden motivations, and different romantic outcomes. Rather than presenting obvious good or evil choices, many decisions involve moral uncertainty, making the progression feel engaging and rewarding.
The cast is another highlight. Each major character possesses distinct motivations, personalities, and secrets that gradually unfold throughout the story. Romantic interests are given enough development to establish believable emotional connections instead of relying on instant attraction. Interactions are often layered with suspicion and conflicting loyalties, reinforcing the game's themes of trust and betrayal. Even secondary characters contribute to the world-building, making the fantasy setting feel populated by individuals with their own ambitions instead of existing solely to support the protagonist.
Artistically, Sounds of Verity embraces a colorful anime-inspired aesthetic that complements its fantasy atmosphere. Character illustrations successfully convey emotion during dramatic conversations, while detailed backgrounds help establish the magical locations across the astral realm. Although the presentation does not match the production scale of major visual novel releases, it maintains a consistent visual identity that supports both romantic scenes and darker moments of political tension. The soundtrack further enhances the experience with music that shifts naturally between peaceful, emotional, and suspenseful moments, helping strengthen the mood without overwhelming the dialogue.
Gameplay remains intentionally simple, consisting primarily of reading, making choices, and exploring multiple narrative routes. Players looking for complex mechanics or strategic gameplay may find the experience limited, but fans of visual novels will appreciate the emphasis on storytelling above all else. The numerous endings and branching romances provide lasting replay value, ensuring that subsequent playthroughs reveal fresh conversations, character interactions, and story developments that may have been missed the first time.
The mature themes included in the game are integrated into the romantic routes rather than serving as the central attraction. They complement the emotional development between characters while allowing the broader story of political conflict, supernatural intrigue, and personal sacrifice to remain the primary focus. This balance helps the narrative appeal to players who enjoy character-driven fantasy stories alongside romantic storytelling.
While the game succeeds in creating an engaging world, the pacing occasionally slows during lengthy dialogue sequences, and some supporting characters receive less attention than the main cast. Certain story routes also deliver stronger emotional conclusions than others, making some playthroughs more satisfying than others. Nevertheless, these issues are relatively minor compared to the overall quality of the writing, the depth of its branching narrative, and the memorable cast.
Sounds of Verity stands as a worthwhile visual novel for fans of fantasy romance and choice-based storytelling. Its combination of political intrigue, supernatural mystery, well-developed relationships, and multiple endings creates an immersive experience that rewards exploration and replayability. Players seeking an emotionally driven adventure with meaningful decisions and a richly imagined fantasy setting will find plenty to enjoy throughout its many narrative paths.

Sounds of verity is a short fantasy novel with 12 different endings and 4 death endings.
The story is centered around a girl being used as a gift to a foreign demon of the north supposed o have a coronation in the coming weeks by a prince from a southern demon kingdom. Escaping death we are led over an over again with forced contacts to the northern demon Nettain to get him to talk, as talking is not his forte. But through time, we grow more and more attached to him and we start to enjoy our time with him.
Artifis, the southern Prince is following our every step and threatens us a few time if we don't comply to his wishes.
Through the different routes and endings we are just trying to survive as a human, in a foreign dangerous world, filled with demons, partially some even hungry of human flesh.
The story starts a bit dull and boring, but with a bit of reading i started to enjoy the story a bit more.
The plot is nice and the different routes makes the dark world a bit more colourful.
The art style is alright, there can be some improvement here and there but it is still enjoyable.
The music is mainly piano, and can be re-listened in a bonus windows once completing one of the routes. An art gallery, and ending bonus is also viewable.
I can recommend the novel further for readers enjoying the fantasy genre. For others, it might be a bit dull to read and boring.
