Don't delist this version sega, heard that the Xbox versions were delisted. You'll kill countless mods of you delist this version. The community supports you so don't screw them over, at the very least include this version in the new game too if you do.
UPDATE 8/10/2024: While not ideal, the game will remain in bundles. I'd like to see them include this version with the remaster as well. sort of how "Ori and the Blind Forest" handled it. buy the remaster and you get the original.

Y'all better not delist this
Edit: They will not be delisting this fully and instead include this game with bundles, however, you will now have to pay double the price for this game which is still pretty scummy in my opinion, but this also means that the modding community is safe! Ggs bois.

Even if you already own this game on console, the mods alone make the PC version worth it. I got this on sale for 5 bucks, and if you can get it for that price, it's well worth it. It definitely has some optimization problems, and gets more and more outdated as time goes on, making it difficult to even run the game, so keep that in mind. Make sure to download the BetterFX Pipeline and Direct3d 9 EX mods at minimum, as they greatly optimize the game and make it run much better. It's not too difficult to install the mods, because even I was able to do it, I just recommend looking up a guide before doing anything just to be safe. Otherwise, my favorite boost game and just one of my favorite games of all time. Highly recommend for any Sonic fan, especially at just 5 bucks.

One of the definitive sonic experiences, too bad it'll be delisted soon. Hope the rerelease doesn't suck.

My favorite quote from the game was when Sonic looks at Dr. Eggman and says "You can't beat me Eggman, i'm a Sonic Generations". I got chills down my spine and screamed from this god tier writing.

The best 3D sonic game behind Unleashed In my opinion. Its unfortunate that its getting unlisted on steam but I'm very excited for sonic x shadow generations. (I just wanted to write a review before sonic x shadow generations released, but I still mean every word I've said)

This is probably the only Sonic game that I fully enjoyed. Its mix of 3D and 2D gameplay feels diverse and refreshing. The addition of 2D levels by literally bringing in classic Sonic from older games is a neat concept in my opinion. At first, like many players, I enjoyed the 3D levels much more than the 2D ones. But later, when I gave them a shot, I realized they can be really fun in their own way. Mainly because of their more manual nature and less automation in gameplay. The spin dash requires more skill to use correctly than the boost, and hitting enemies requires timing and precision rather than just auto-aim. This leads to more rewarding gameplay. The one thing I’m not a big fan of is the addition of 2D segments in modern Sonic levels. That feels unnecessary when there are already fully 2D levels, making the whole package less diverse.
The game features nine levels with two acts for each character, some boss fights, and many challenges. I definitely prefer this structure over many similar styled levels scattered across a few acts. Quality over quantity leads to more replayability and a more enjoyable experience. I might even 100% this game because of it. The overworld here is not a "real" place like in Sonic Adventure, Sonic '06, or Sonic Unleashed, but it’s still a place where you can run around with levels scattered across it. I always prefer that over just level select menus. Additionally, the pinball minigame DLC is a fun distraction for a few hours. Sonic + Pinball is always a great mix.
Lastly, let's talk about the dilemma you might have now. With Sonic X Shadow Generations announced, you can buy this game now or wait for the remake with new content. But there are some problems. First of all, there is a high probability that this version of the game will be delisted after the remake's release. And knowing SEGA's track record, you might get a worse/incomplete version of the current game, without the ability to choose the other one. Considering the new version will probably cost $60, with a questionable amount of new content added, you should definitely consider your decision. My personal advice - buy this version now. Considering how low its cost is nowadays, and how little different the remake's graphics look from the trailer, you won't lose much. You can always buy the remake later if it turns out great. Whichever you choose in the end, you're sure to have a great time, so enjoy it fully!
