Saturday of Piercing Screams is the second game to the "Samozbor" series created by the Russian Developer "Derevotyan." The goal of the game is to sacrifice 914 people over the course of 64 levels to the great shark god thing? Honestly I have no idea what's going on... Like the whole series in general is super confusing to me, but it's interesting none the less.
Let me get this out of the way first, I do not enjoy the menus at all. There is just too much stuff moving around. Combine that with the menus themselves move and sway around is just really hard to read/use. For the most part everything works in the settings and allows you to toggle fullscreen and adjust volumes. A complaint is there is nothing to tell you what the controls were, not that there was many controls to begin with. I do like how every time you play a level, the color and level textures will change up.
Now for actual gameplay. I really did not like how it controls. Your character is VERY floaty, and will just slide around. The ground you walk on is also "destructible" so the blocks will pop up and move around. This makes it very hard to move around and even harder to jump, as a single layer of block will just make you fall through, or even block you from moving around. Later in the game there is spinning saw blades that you have to avoid or it will kill you restarting the level. My biggest issue with that is there will be saw blades down paths you have to fall down and you will barely have room to avoid the saw blades. One thing that was very helpful is that if you do kill an enemy and you die, any that you killed previously will just auto-die so you can get the ones you missed. There is no lives limit either, so you can just keep playing till you beat the level.
Now I was only able to make it to World 3 Level 7 before I had to stop. After awhile the constant swaying and camera movement was starting to hurt my eyes. In the end do I recommend it? I honestly don't know. The game works fine as there is no bugs or crashes, but the gameplay itself is slightly repetitive, and the difficulty is nothing extreme. Maybe if the game is on sale and you are interested give it a shot. It's definitely an interesting game and experience.

Clunky but you eventually are able to master its weird unexplained mechanics

I unironically bought this garbage knowing it was garbage, i wasn't dissapointed. I want a T rex releasing his hot sticky seed into my eyes.

Russian fever dream Castlevania. Addicting, annoying, cathartic.
