About the Game
You, a legendary retired veteran, are called upon for one last operation: to ascend a mega-city ruled by a corrupt conglomerate. You were chosen for this mission because of your signature chain-hook prosthetic arm and the ability to maneuver and quickly defeat enemies. The mission: to hunt down a mysterious entity known as “SANABI” and uncover corporate secrets hidden deep within the city.
An exhilarating platformerYour giant chain-hook prosthetic arm acts as both a method for quickly maneuvering around and also a way to swiftly take out your opponents. With your legendary skills, you are capable of using your prosthetic arm to jump over cliffs and skyscrapers, dash through bullets and traps and defeat powerful enemies. It’s time for you to come back out of retirement for one last mission.
A beautiful yet mysterious cyberpunk dystopiaMega-city “MAGO” is a high-tech city ruled by a corrupt conglomerate… at least, that’s what it was 24 hours ago. After a sudden blackout, all of its citizens mysteriously disappeared and the city was left in total chaos. It’s your mission to explore the depths of the city and uncover what happened.
Mari, the hacker prodigyA brilliant hacker and drone rider you meet during your mission. Mari can open locked doors, reveal enemy weaknesses and uncover encrypted information. Mari is lovely and reliable, but maybe just a little too chatty. Who knows though, this girl might be the key to finding SANABI.

Absolute cinema. Ngl I pirated this game but not buying this is basically robbing the developer, so here I am

I played this game due to recommendations after Katana Zero, I can say that it is well worth it! The game play mechanics are super fun! The pixel art visuals are incredible and the story is phenomenal! An extremely enjoyable experience, if you liked Katana Zero, you'll love this game!

I came for the arcadey grapple swing mechanics but I stayed for the story this game tells. I cannot recommend this game for a full playthrough enough

Came for the cool grappling hook gameplay, stayed for the "oh god my heart. Why is this dumb little pixel art game doing this to me?"
I thought, on first glance, this was just a cool 2d platformer with a fairly unique traversal gimmick and while that is definitely part of it, it really is only a part of it. The actual gameplay is frustrating as you get to grips with it but eventually has you flying around and dismantling anything that dares cross your path like it was nothing. I could criticise some part of it as not taking advantage of the tools it has at it's disposal with that and, in fact, almost going out of it's way to contradict it but it's such a vanishingly small aspect of this game that I don't even think it really detracts from the experience.
The story though. I'm normally quite good at feeling out where a story will take me in games and not only did I not call this one, when it all wrapped up at the end it left me absolutely devastated. I'm not even kidding when I say that once it was over I just sat in the dark contemplating it.
I almost want to say that I wish the team behind this would do more like it but the more I think about it I hope they don't and that they just let this thing exist on it's own. I only wish more people knew about this and would give it a chance because they don't know what they're missing.

this game is 10/10 MINIUM
the gameplay feels good and not clunky
story...... oh story..... its perfect. Plot holes are covered up by later story. The last part of the game makes you fell stupid and in the same time makes you cry

Purchased for $10. I must apologize to the developers, for I feel I have scammed them by paying so little for such a masterpiece.
SANABI is one of exceedingly few games that I will consider a 9 or 10 out of 10. Every frame of this game is breathtaking in its style, the animations are incredibly fluid, and the story is one of the best I have ever experienced in a game of 10 hours. Incredibly well balanced with a high skill ceiling; sections feel difficult at first but not impossible.
I will say the controls can take some time getting used to, and there are some instances of bugs like buttons not going off when they're pressed. But these are comparatively minor, and are utterly unimportant in this.
EDIT: I should mention this because there's a lot of comparisons to Katana ZERO going around. This is NOT an action focused game, this is a narrative focused game between two people. There is a lot of dialogue and cutscenes can be lengthy. Keep this in mind before you buy.

Wow, how do I describe this.
Just finished the game and I can point to very few gaming experiences that hit me like this one did.
Sanabi is a beautifully crafted artistic masterpiece. ON TOP of that, its a blast to play.
Please, PLEASE, if you're reading this deep in the steam review pages, give this game a chance.
