RONIN

This game is ridiculously fun. I replay it periodically because it's just that good, and I keep checking back on the developer here on Steam to see if he's put out a new game. It's been ten years since this was put on Steam (at the time of this writing), and I'm still hoping for more games like this. Just a great game.

Ronin instantly reminded me of Mark of the Ninja, but the gameplay couldn't be more different. It's a side-scrolling action platformer with a turn-based twist. Not something you see very often... if ever.

The art style isn't the greatest, but it fits the game well enough. The gameplay is what kept me coming back, with each encounter feeling like a little tactical puzzle.

The story, on the other hand... I honestly don't remember much of it. Either it wasn't very memorable, or my brain decided to overwrite it with more important information.

All in all, I'd recommend it. It's one of those hidden indie gems that's easy to overlook but well worth playing.

Gameplay is easy to understand but deep enough to stay interesting. Aesthetic, music, and vibes are excellent

A wonderful little action-puzzle game that is short and sweet. I come back and play it about once a year and have a great time. When you inevitably exit the stealth to remove a high priority enemy, you will then play turn-based combat, deciding between defense and offense with every move, trying to strike the right balance each turn.
Made in 2015 and barely updated, there's some technical jank to deal with, like resolution size and screen scaling.
A fun challenge with simple gameplay that has a high ceiling for skill expression. I highly recommend you give it a shot when it's on sale.

I've always thought that this game was a bit underappreciated. I wouldn't say it's perfect and it has some frustrating moments but for quite cheap you get 5-10 hours' worth of really fun and satisfying gameplay. If you're still unsure after checking out some gameplay footage I'd wait for a sale during which the game is 100% worth picking up.

Cool old school style game it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard, my ONLY gripe is the controls you tell it to jump in a certain direction and the system just refuses to do so while at other times doing exactly what you want mostly ♥♥♥♥♥ up on you during combat, that said it's still a marvelous game yall should check it out for sure!
