Romance with Chocolate is the second game from Russian developer, Crisp App Studio, and follows in the steps of their previous Steam release with another "adventureless" hidden object title for those who prefer a little less point 'n' click in their HOGs. While I'm not quite as taken with this game as compared to Time Trap, it still has a certain amount of charm despite an unpolished translation...and the soundtrack is lovely.
Gameplay is simply picking out items from a list of words or silhouttes. If you're looking to 100% achievements, you'll need to play each level over and over again to decrease the time it takes to finish them and earn 3 stars, but I found this to be enjoyable enough. Leaderboards are also available for those who like to challenge themselves competitively, which is something not often done in the genre.
My biggest gripe is with the lack of graphical fidelity. It is clear that the images were upscaled from a lower resolution, and thus many items are blurry and hard to distinguish. The ability to play in windowed mode would have helped with this issue some, but sadly it's not an option.
That said, the enjoyment I received from this little title outweighed the issues I had with it's presentation, and it's a fairly easy 100% to boot. Your mileage may vary, but it's worth checking out if you enjoyed Time Trap or are looking for more straight HOGs here on Steam.

Review: Romance with Chocolate - Hidden Object in Paris
Graphics / Sound :
The Game is not Animated nor 3D rendered which does not mean it is not good. Pictures are looking decent. The Main Characters do look sharp enough. What i like is that it does have something like an Artstyle and is not just an unedited Photoshop picture, it looks a lot more like a painting. The Soundtrack was pretty good in my opinion as it had some Bioshock Infinite vibes with it.
Overall im not that hugely amazed but that is probably because i am more used into playing other genres of games.
Gameplay:
Again, i never really play Point & Click/ Hidden Object Games so i am not the best Guy to judge this but i will try my Best.
Mostly you have to find Objects ( Displayed with the name of the Object that us hidden) or other thing like animals etc. in random Picture of a Location. What is nice is that you get relaxed while playing this and makes nice use of your Optic skills. Sadly these types of Moments are a little bit inconsistent. Basically, you get 3 times in a row the same type of Problem. It could be better to constantly mix it up. Other than that i expected almost no interest gameplay-wise by me but was actually suprised.
Story:
There will be no spoilers ahead, or not any major ones!
In my opinion it was a nice short story. Will not change your life but will keep you intrested without boring you.
It was more like reading a novel. Although im not really the guy keen onto all that i still enjoyed the story as it did never bore me and actually suprised me quite a lot. I will give it a decently high rating as for a 1 hour story it did a nice job.
Performance:
Game had some unstabilities but that did not really bother me.
And it probably is playable on any machine.
Price:
Currently Priced at 2,99EUR which is a little expensive for a 1 hour story.
It is definetely worth it on sales and you could actually consider getting the Normal priced version to help
the Developer.

A rather fun little HOG.
The story line is interesting enough and the puzzles are simple.
Not the most challenging of games but a fun way to relax and the background music is quite pleasant.

Games like this make me wish there was a neutral rating. It was annoying to not have a windowed mode available. If you're not using the game's very generous hint system you'll beat it within three hours. The achievements are all obtainable. I liked it well enough but the scrolling aspect of zooming in from forced fullscreen really threw me off.

If you like "cookie-cutter" HOG's, this one isn't for you. If you like scenes that look like paintings with a wonderfully appropriate soundtrack and an engaging story, you'll like this game. The HO's are found by pairs, by names or by silhouettes, and yes, they can be down right difficult to see or even look different from what you'd expect. The hint system is unlimited so I don't stress when I am stuck on the last 1 or 2 items. You are able to zoom in and you can pull the scenes up/down and side to side to find all the items. There are puzzles too, like spot the difference or rotate tiles to finish a scene. For the price you can overlook the quirks of this game and just enjoy the art and the music! I've played many of the games by this studio and this is one of my favorites.

Great game! Lovely Parisian locations, different tasks to do, perfect game balance make this game one of the best in HOG genre. Really addictive! You can pass levels multiply to do the best and write your name to leaderboard! Achievements are present, no need extraordinary efforts to get. No trading cards yet.

A unique seek and find experience. Was very straightforward plot-wise (no time travel or bringing dead women back to life) and the music was soothing. A very casual game with many hints available should you need them. The ending was a little abrupt and the play time was very short (you could definitely finish it in half an hour or less if you wanted to). Overall, a pleasant experience and a nice change of pace from the usual over-the-top, mysticism-filled HOP games.
