Rock 3
Rock 3 is a procedural world generator to build believable and interesting earth-like worlds. By modeling tectonics and climate it drastically simplifies the process of building detailed and realistic biomes across continents and islands, while providing the controls you need to fine-tune and customize near-infinite possible planets. Save your worlds as equirectangular projections of biomes, elevation, heightmap, heat, water, and landmasses.
Rock 3 generates planets entirely on your GPU. It’s not recommended to run this on a laptop or other device with integrated graphics. Your experience may also be compromised on an old or low-end graphics card. In some cases scaling the resolution of the planet down can improve performance to usable levels. Maps are always saved at the highest resolution.

Hell yea, ive been waiting for this my whole life.
Maybe one thing tho, an legend for what color means what (what temperature/biome, whatever)
Otherwise, big thumbs up!

This is a very nice tool for creating a map, I use it for random worldbuilding projects. Fun to mess around with to see how a more realistic world could look instead of slapping some lines down in a map creator and hoping it looks realistic enough.
Things that are nice:
-Quite a few map view options (Elevation, Heat, Water, Biomes).
-MANY sliders that actively change the map as you slide them.
-Being able to use other map projections my clicking and dragging in flat map mode, with a convenient button to reset view.
-Able to freely swap between flat maps and a globe view.
-Water looks cool when in globe mode.
Things that would be nice:
-A minimizable key for each view option. For biomes specifically, it would be nice to know what I'm looking at even if I'm pretty sure I'm right. Could probably just have it pop up when hovering over a biome.
-Options of image sizes when exporting.
-Would it be possible to export a gif of the globe spinning? That'd be neat.
-Ability to see day/night on flat view, and control day/night cycle directly in both globe and flatmap.
-Option to disable day/night on globe view.
All this is considering if it works on your machine, I experienced no issues on mine.

its really good, but i wish there was a way to reopen a map instead of just having average resolution images

Stumbled upon this beautiful program completely by chance and I already LOVE IT!
I've been interested in realistic worldbuilding for a year now. Prevously I used some knowledge I was taught in school geography course and Artifexian's wordbuilding videos to create my worlds but this thing brings it to a whole new level.
In fact it makes a good real time visualization of how biomes spread changes depending on the all different conditions.
However, it's usually hard to understand how exactly your planet is like because those sliders do not provide any exact information about all conditions like temperature, moisture axial tilt etc. as they're are not measured in real numbers.
It would be cool if some other features would be added like an ability to import rour own heightmaps to generate realistic climates out of them or to set a planets orbit to make some extreme planets.

Awesome for world building. I keep on creating and creating and getting ideas for a history of the world I've made. Pretty amazizng.

Very cool little tool. Great for inspiration and plenty of knobs to twist.

This is a pretty cool map maker! Helps a lot of people out who role-play or play D&D that need to make world maps for their adventures. My only gripes are that you guys should definitely add at least some sound effects and music, make it a bit more easier to move the planet around and be able to actually put some land masses on the planet. That would make this map maker amazing.
