Prompt is a hardcore platformer. It is minimalist, it is retro, and it is very, very hard.
Everything from the visual style to the design of every level has been coded with love, just for you. Each level will give you a new challenge, and it will require you to complete it in a new way.
Prompt has a full level editor. Create and share levels with your friends!
Must-have Features:
- Double jumping!
- Simulated gravity!
- Moving platform physics!
- Full 1-bit color depth!
- Extra widescreen 5:4 aspect ratio!
The excellent music in Prompt was produced by Matt Simmonds. Check out his other work at http://4mat.bandcamp.com!

This game is hard in the best way possible. It's a great platformer and the levels are very well put together. The fake CRT screen refresh rate line was getting on my nerves after awhile. Great art style and very fluid controls. If you're a fan of platformers, I'd buy it at any price point, if you're on the fence, I'd wait till for a sale.

So this game has some teething troubles, but I can still recommend it. I'll write my review in list form for a better overview:
PROs:
+ Easy and accurate controls
+ Many graphic options
+ Easy to roam menu system
+ Level editor
+ Super fast respawn on death
CONs:
- Xbox 360 controller-compatiblaty, but none with the more recent Xbox One controller
- Later levels are rather cheap than challenging
- Achievements are bugged, you may receive ones for actions not yet completed
- Annoying music
So overall I'd give this game a 7/10. It isn't too hard either, you will get the hang of the controls rather soon and breeze through the levels. I played for 3 hours until finishing the game including collecting all keys.

I like it - seems really fun so far. I would only wish the more of the ASCii character set was used for a real DOS/UNIX look like in the retro early-early 90's, 16:9 support would look approperate on my PC's monitor or TV. No loading issues or anything with my GTX980/i7 4930k. Also - custom refresh rates would serioustly be nice! (how does this work currently? Does it use system?) I have a 144hz with strobe support (BenQ XL2720Z) and platforms have that beautiful CRT feel when I can kick it to 144fps @ 144hz :D
Defently worth $5 - should make a PS Vita port of this.

This is a simple platformer with just a double jump, focused mostly on precise (sometimes pixel-perfect) movement. But it managed to show that this is not necessarily a bad thing.
I like that the height of the jump can't be controlled (like it usually is by holding the button longer); there are surprisingly many small moments where you really have to think how to utilize such jumps.
The retro aesthetics are quite nice but I turned off the effects for better competitive play. Music and sounds are good.

Morlan's shorts:
What you see up there? You like? Good, because that's the game. All of it! It's hard (well mostly), keyboard response is good which is needed, there are no graphics..well there are but you're reduced to a white-ish tiny pylon! The music is quite nice as well and the levels are well crafted and increasingly hard. I would appreciate a volume control but there's only on/off. It's quite a nice little game that will make you break a few keyboards or joysticks (if you're that weird) but it's fun! A bit pricey at it's default so maybe wait for a wee sale..
Now where's this guy's next game?
Don't waste more time reading lengthy reviews.. time is of the essence!
