It's the kind of game where you hug every wall while spamming 'activate' to find secrets.

Project Warlock is another new fantastic bloody fps shooter inspired by immortal titles such as hexen or wolfenstein.
Fast paced action promised in 60 challenging and detailed levels with hidden keys and excellent sound effects.

Bought this as part of a humble bundle. Really fun and different from other retro fps games. Can recommend

Really well put together old school FPS, i'll be honest i didn't really explore the 'Warlock' side of the game as i just put all my points into upgrading weapons and blasting the shit out of everything, but it worked for me.
I know a lot of purists enjoy the maze-like design of older FPS games but for me i prefer a slightly more linear approach, make no mistake Project Warlock certainly has many routes and keys to open doors, as well as heaps of secret rooms to discover. But i very rarely got lost and the way to the next part of the level was never too frustrating to find.
As you'd expect with this sort of game plenty of guns to choose from and most of them feel great to use, you also have the option to upgrade weapons into new variants for example you can upgrade an SMG into dual Uzi's or a Nail gun(never ever do this the nail gun is a piece or garbage that you'll end up just killing yourself with, but that's beside the point) that adds variety to multiple playthroughs. Talking of multiple playthoughs i played this game on every difficulty for all achievements and each difficulty felt fairly consistent on the difficulty curve, i would argue first difficulty is a bit too easy so maybe if you're comfortable with these games bump that up on your first play.
I'll be watching Project Warlock 2 closely to see how they push the next game forward in terms of gameplay, for now though this is a great pickup, unlike the Nailgun.
