About the Game
Power Chord is a team-based roguelike deck-building time-resetting battle against the demon gangs of Helmoth.
Assemble Earth’s mightiest musicians, each with their own unique cards and gear, to fight your way through the hordes and destroy the only guitar powerful enough to reopen the scratch between worlds.
Choose from a diverse cast of kick-ass characters to assemble your band, with each member having their own unique set of cards and playstyles. Combo your different band members’ cards to unleash devastating attacks and shred your opponents. Be careful though because if a band member falls in battle you’ll lose them and access to their cards in future battles until you revive them at a pit stop.
Discover new cards as you bar brawl stage-to-stage, unlocking new strategies to take down demons and strengthening your instruments of destruction. Choose your way through a branching path filled with battles, merchants, random encounters, and valuable rest locations to heal and revive fallen characters.

if you ever wanted a roguelike deckbuilder that was somehow a mix of Borderlands, Guitar Hero, and Deep Sky Derelicts... well, look, that's a pretty crazy idea. i don't really know how those things would even go together.
but Power Chord proves that they do! and it's an AMAZING time! definitely worth the money and the time you'll inevitably sink into this wonderful little game. if it had unlockable outfits / colors for your band, it would REALLY complete the vibe of the games i mentioned above.

Having more fun than I thought I would. I love the aesthetic and card types. Different stylings of characters is thrilling too. Granted it is an RNG heavy Roguelike, but isn't that the point? My first couple runs ended with me getting utterly bodied, but then the RNG favored me and I had a broken build. It is simply the nature of the game and you deal with it. Love it. Dig it.

Not a bad Slay the spire type of game. Its pretty solid and i enjoyed it. The only real downside is that the game play is slowed by how many characters there are. It is regularly 4 allies vs 4 enemies so you have to sit and think carefully every turn which enemy to attack and which character to buff. You can't just fly through combat.

100% achievements.
I wanted to give this game a neutral review. And here is why:
The game IS GOOD. I had a lot of fun thinking about combos and alternative ways to do things. So why would i say it's a neutral recommendation?
Well, devs kinda messed up the game's potential. The seeds are way to complicated to achieve some of the achievements. There's a GREAT flaw about the game's completion. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO UNLOCK the last card of one of the characters. Yes, impossible. Devs changed some mechanics and you can't get the requirements to unlock the card.
Also, game has some bad balance when it comes to some characters. Stitch and Cleo are extremelly weak compared to the other characters and i would only run with them for achievements. Some events really needed a rework but they were ok.
Despite the flaws, game has really cool visuals, a headbanging cool OST, some nice OP combos and a good interface. It's one of those games that could have been EXTREMELY good but ended up being a mid one because of the lack in polishing. Take the odd 2 hardest achievements in the game (The Kreigmaister!!! and By our Powers Combined) and the game is also pretty doable to get 100%.

The only real problem I have with the game is one I often find in some other roguelike deckbuilders, that is, you have a set amount (4) of relics you can equip on your characters. It's even works as the starting relic of each character is what make each character unique so it cannot be replace and there's another relic for each character to be able to fight the final boss, so you can essentially equip only 2 relics per character, which really limits run diversity and fun.
That and most stances are basically useless as they can only be used once per fight and are consumed and you lose the buff if you take hp damage.
If the devs care to fix those two things the game would be a honest 8/StS, which is great.
But I don't see it happening... Maybe with a mod. *sight*

The sound design is great, and the overall style matches what the game promises. I might be biased, but after I played "NSR: no straight roads", where the whole "We'll rock the city with our rock!" is followed by EDM in the background with no rock by a long shot, not getting lied in the face feels nice.

Heavy metal games are sadly few and far between. Heavy métal Strategy even more so. This is probably the best one
