About the Game
Power Chord is a team-based roguelike deck-building time-resetting battle against the demon gangs of Helmoth.
Assemble Earth’s mightiest musicians, each with their own unique cards and gear, to fight your way through the hordes and destroy the only guitar powerful enough to reopen the scratch between worlds.
Choose from a diverse cast of kick-ass characters to assemble your band, with each member having their own unique set of cards and playstyles. Combo your different band members’ cards to unleash devastating attacks and shred your opponents. Be careful though because if a band member falls in battle you’ll lose them and access to their cards in future battles until you revive them at a pit stop.
Discover new cards as you bar brawl stage-to-stage, unlocking new strategies to take down demons and strengthening your instruments of destruction. Choose your way through a branching path filled with battles, merchants, random encounters, and valuable rest locations to heal and revive fallen characters.

Well don't expect the world from this storywise, just enjoy the vibe it brings.
It's obviously closely inspired by Slay the Spire, but is clearly it's own thing and turned out quite enjoyable.
-> Having four characters instead of one freshens up the dynamic in a good way.
-> The overall game is easier than Slay the Spire, but still challenging enough to be enjoyable (if you struggle and need help hit me up ;)
-> There are a LOT of viable builds in lower Distortion levels (=Ascension in StS), which is very fun. It grants insane power trips (Killing the endgame boss before it gets a turn isn't all that rare - getting it down in 2-6 rounds is rather normal)
-> Higher Distortion levels require you to play the better characters and use good combos you found while ascending, which is how it should be imho.
Got through the ascensions in about 85 hours as you have to do at least 21 runs and one run can take 2-3 hours. So you get plenty of game time enjoyment for the price. Even at -20% sale it's already a decent to good buy. Get a 50% and it's a steal.

Best compliment i can give it is: its like "Slay the Spire" gameplay meets Borderland Graphics, mixed with awesome rock sound track! Highly recommend it if you like Slay the spire and other roguelites. It also runs great on the Deck

nice mix of darkest dungeon and slay the spire, continue run doesn't seem to work which is dumb, some of the cards are objectively bad compared to others. overall a fun game with good build variety

Fun little deckbuilder with a good sense of humor.
Sometimes RNGesus hates you but most runs can at least get through a boss or two while you unlock better cards, characters, gear, whatever for future runs. So you'll make progress even if you lose.
