Police Stories
Inspired by SWAT 4 and gritty police TV shows, Police Stories is a fresh take on top-down shooters with an emphasis on tactics that forces you to make split second decisions. Neutralize criminals, rescue civilians and defuse bombs in Single Player mode or Online Co-op. And remember – shooting first is not an option! Unforgiving and tense, each mission tells a story of two police operatives – John Rimes and Rick Jones, filled with infiltrating gang hideouts, rescuing hostages, making arrests and other life-threatening situations. The Surrender System allows you to apprehend the suspects without resorting to violence. Fire a warning shot near them or engage them in melee combat – those are just some of the ways you can make them submit. Issue commands to your fellow cop Rick Jones. Make sure to use him wisely – and who knows, he might save your life in return.

I love this game however molesting people is considered "unauthorized use of force" and deducts from your final score. It's a great game but this just drops the realism so much it's borderline unplayable.

Pretty mid game. It lacks a lot in variety. The maps are small and there's only ever 1 or 2 entrances. You only get points for grabbing evidence, defusing bombs or arresting/killing suspects. So there's not a lot of ways to get a good score. When you understand the game, all the levels play the same: never run, always use the taser/melee, rarely use items because they're useless and you don't get points for successfully using them. So it's pretty boring and very easy once you get the jest of it.
The story is aight, a cookie-cutter cop story with a twist that's not even a twist cause you can see it from miles away. The end is a bit nonsensical too.
The online coop experience was pretty mediocre as we got multiple disconnects in our very short playtime.
Since it's only 4 bucks it's not that bad overall, but keep in mind the campaign can be finished in around 3-4 hours very easily. Also, don't even think about playing in local coop and/or with a controller. The aiming is downright impossible on controller and the local coop is horrendous without split screen.
I'll still recommend it cause it's cheap and there's potential but it's just inherently too repetitive and restricted gameplay-wise.

Looks like Hotline Miami but its the exact opposite. Its pretty mediocre by itself but co op is fun.
+ Graphics are great, i liked the cutscenes as well.
+ Co op is great and the main reason to play the game.
+ Gameplay is fun, using tactics and cautious approach is rewarded, going in guns blazing is not.
- Story sucks, it doesnt make much sense and is very basic.
- Game is pretty buggy, there are stuck loading screens, random bugs during gameplay that force you to restart the map.
- When alerted enemies seem to have insane reaction time on, almost like using an aimbot. This makes combat not fun.
- DLCs suck - both are half baked and seem more like mods than official content.
- 20€ is pretty steep for such a short game.
- Gets pretty repetetive 5 hours in.
Overall its worth only if you want to go play with your friend, otherwise this game doesnt have much to offer.

A very enjoyable game that is a very obviously trying to translate SWAT 4 gameplay into a 2D top-down shooter.
The goal is to go non-lethal and arrest criminals and civilians without having to kill anyone.
It's a good game to come back to once in a while but it's not hghly replayable. It's just great the time it lasts.

It's a pretty good coop experience (aside from the connection bugs), the only thing that i think could be better are the guns.
The guns in this game draw too much attention (which makes sense) and more often than not it's easier to just punch, taser or pepper spray the suspect, so there's no real incentive for you to use them. Because of this, I played most of the game using only non-lethal options.
Nonetheless, I still think that it's a fun game.

The game that walked so the later games could run. In a way it is much more of a puzzle game because of how the game's scoring system works. You are slower and you ought to minimise casualties if you want a good score via the gadgets. Not that aggressive gameplay itself is easy. If you agitate enemies you will be gone in a few shots.
In a way, the one life approach to levels would be interesting in other games even if I acknowledge it would suck for how the future went for the dev.

This game is more or less like Hotline Miami/Hotline Miami 2, but because you're a cop and not an assassin (like in the HM games), your objectve isn't to simply kill everybody on the level in order to progress.
There is a decent tactical element to this game, being a top down shooter, and you get some pretty neat weapons and toys to play with. The storyline isn't terribly interesting, but that's alright because the gameplay is pretty awesome. The controls do take some getting used to, though.
