OTXO
OTXO (pronounced oh-cho) is a violent top-down shooter with roguelite elements. Play as the protagonist entering an inexplicable mansion in search of his lost love. As you venture deeper into the Mansion, more of its secrets will be unveiled to you.
Featureless, unnamed, and without memories of how you came here… but you remember why. She’s waiting for you somewhere in this Mansion and you cannot leave until you find her. Cut your way through various unique areas and meet new allies as you delve deeper into the mystery, face your inner demons, and annihilate them.
With a massive variety of guns, over 100 abilities, and Focus to dodge bullets at your disposal, kick down doors and eviscerate the variety of enemies standing in between you and your mission.
◼ Tons of replayability: OTXO will take the player through 8 areas with a randomly laid out selection of rooms out of the over 150 hand-crafted rooms built in the game. No two runs of the game will be the same.
◼ Customization: Find the setup that’ll help you break the cycle from a whole selection of unlockable weapons and over 100 acquirable abilities from the game’s enigmatic bartender.
◼ Playstyle: With the slow-mo mechanic, Focus, at your disposal OTXO will make the player feel powerful and in control. However, be careful because the variety of enemy types thrown in your way can quickly turn the tides of the combat if you don’t adapt accordingly.
◼ Soundtrack: Fully immerse yourself into the brutal noir-esque murder ballet through the gritty pulse pumping soundtrack composed by the developer himself.

OTXO really scratches the Hotline Miami itch I’ve had since HM2 came out. It’s simultaneously more punishing and more forgiving than Hotline Miami.
Instead of restarting the same level over and over, OTXO is a rouge like, and you’ll restart your entire run. The levels seem randomly generated (but I could be mistaken), so it stays fresh, and it’s harder to come up with a level strategy or to cheese your way through the story.
It’s more forgiving in that weapons are reloadable, you have a generous health meter,
unlock-able power ups that alter combat, give you perks, etc. as well as a time shifting mechanic that can get you out of hairy scenarios.
The controls are nearly identical to Hotline Miami, and feel great.
It plays great on the Steamdeck, and runs at native resolution at a solid 60fps.
The soundtrack is great. Similar feeling as HM, but a heavier more metal sounding techno than the retro wave and synth wave we got in HM. It fits the game well and I haven’t heard a dud in the mix yet.

It's a great game, the guns feel punchy, the artstyle is amazing, the sound effects make me wet and horny, and soundtrack, GOD the soundtrack is good, it feels like someone put Nicotine patches inside my uterus and is finger ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ me while they take effect.

A very good game, one of the simpler roguelikes, which isn't a bad thing, with an awesome soundtrack and even an impossible mode if you want to make it more difficult. A little tip: if you're dying and don't want to lose everything, quit the game and go back in, as this will completely refresh your life. (you didn't hear it from me, though) All in all, a very good game that reminds me a lot of Hotline Miami. Solid 8/10 with a 10/10 OST.
