From beautiful cityscapes and ocean roads to exploding enemy spaceships, Neon Drive has it all. It's inspired by the arcade games of the 80's, but set against a futuristic backdrop of glowing cyber-grid, all in silky-smooth graphics. Neon Drive brings you 8 amazing levels, adding up to hours of enjoyment. Each level features multiple twists and perspective changes, keeping you on your toes (err, wheels) throughout the gameplay. Neon Drive will put your mad dodging skills to a real test, mercilessly pushing the limits of your reaction time and short-term memory to avoid obstacles and dead-ends. Seriously, this game is wicked just when you think you've got the hang of it, it turns the table on you.

So, what is Neon Drive??
Neon Drive is a arcade game where you dodge different obsticles with a transforming vehicle most based on the rhythm.
It has a standard difficulty and 2 harder difficultys that increases the speed and music what makes it even tighter to make the inputs right.
Controls are simple: Use Left and right (A & D) to move the vehicle.
For horizontal stages right is up and left is down that may be proven difficulty for some players.
Aspects of Neon Drive!!
Neat visuals that changes with each levels and playstyles inside levels
Great music that still holds up to this day
A few options to costumice the game (not much) like disabling checkpoints
And atlast a endurance run where you go trough all 8 levels without crashing and increased speed after 1 round
Fazit?!?
Neon drive seems difficulty at first but as the saying goes:
YOU GET BETTER THE MORE YOU TRY!!
Would I recommend the game?? Absolutly!!
It does not seem much and there havnt been any updates, BUT it's still worth to have in the library.
With that, I will say: Decide for yourself if you give it a try or not
For my part, I am happy to have bought it and looking forward for future games if the team ever decide to make another game or a sequel to Neon Drive.

Flying level reminds me how bad iam
but music used in each level is really enjoyable so suffering isn't that horrific

Does it get repetitive? Yes. Is it supposed to? Absolutely yes. Is it short? Depends on how fast you can smash your fingers. I am not fast enough to be able to finish this game, but the music, visuals and gameplay in general is absolutely awesome.

I both love and hate this game.
It's fun and addicting. I hate it because it is challenging as heck and I am dumb.
The soundtrack is also lovely and despite the songs only being sped up in the higher difficulties it doesn't sound off, which is honestly a great feat in my opinion.
There aren't many levels but the few that exist have a satisfying variety to them with the second halves of each level changing things up from the standard gameplay in some rather fun ways.
The only gripe I have with the levels or their design specifically would be Level 5's 75%-100% and Level 7's 80%-90% ranges. These sections seem kind of odd, in that the rhythm that you're supposed to follow is quite difficult to hear in the song itself. I only managed to get by by completely memorizing them which I don't think is something you should be doing in a rhythm game.

It's fun. It's addictive. It's actually very difficult, but that just makes it feel more rewarding. It's also beautiful. 8/10
I think the most important factor of arcade games like this is the fun factor. And it is very fun.. but it doesn't stop there; the soundtrack and graphics are beautiful. One of the best looking games to play on steam deck OLED.
Now, I'm not very good at this type of game, and it's very much a skill issue, but endlessly replaying the same level was actually fun because there was virtually no waiting time to restart and the gfx, music and gameplay just keeps you hooked.
I did know that once I stopped, though, I'd probably uninstall it and never play it again. So your milage may vary.
Recommended for any rhythm game fans, or arcade style game fans.

Neon Drive: New Retro Wave Vibes With NO MERCY, 8/10
A challenging rhythm game that has nice visuals and music. It has 8 levels consisting of 3 difficulties that changes the speed the game is running, simple in concept but makes all the difference in terms of difficulty.
Sometimes music feels out of sync with the levels but it has an easily adjustable music offset bar so its not much of an issue.
The level design and format gets different with each level which is nice to see. Only issue with that is some levels requires moving up or down while the controls are stuck with left and right arrow keys or A/D instead of W/S or up or down keys which is a real bummer, it adds an unnecessary mental adjustment when there is no need to if there was a simple key setting for it.
When playing casually its fun and frustrating at the same time, there is literally no margin of error, which makes completing that much satisfying. Like literally, move milliseconds off and your are dead, back to the start or checkpoints if you have it on.
Trying to %100 the game? Oh boy, it gets frustrating FAST. It took me 10 hours to get all the achievements which the endurance mode was pure luck, the game glitched out and I just left it on until the targeted 15 min mark. I know it is doable as I finished all the levels but yeah, a lot of swearing during the process.
The game also has a free run mode without any obstacles if you just want to listen to the tunes while running the whole level but its meh, also its unlocked after you finish the normal difficulty so you get the feel of it when you play it normally anyway.
TL/DR: Overall good game with a nice neon vibe but buy it if you don't mind punching the table every once in a while!
