NAHKA is a cry for help for those who can’t speak for themselves. NAHKA is a Finnish word that stands for leather, fur, hide, skin, and pelt.

NAHKA is a game that stands for ecological values, animal rights, provoking story, engaging gameplay, and real-life horror.

This game shows the impact of fur farming from the perspective of animals.

Inspired by titles such as Limbo, Inside & Little Nightmares, NAHKA is the ultimate feel-bad game about fur farming, an arcane, brutal, and unethical industry which should not exist today.

NAHKA is a 2,5D puzzle platformer with heavy emphasis on atmosphere. The game explores the relationship between humans and animals by switching their roles. The protagonist of the game is a guard dog which is tasked to hunt down a white fox that has escaped from a fur farm.

During the game the dog is reintegrated to nature, and when he returns to the farm, he sees the world differently. The dog must rise against the masters.

NAHKA takes place in the intersection between nature and agriculture. The game explores the differences and similarities of a dog and a fox. One is the man’s best friend, other an animal bred for its fur. Horror elements are focused on fur farming and the effects man has on nature.

Although the game focuses on agriculture, NAHKA also explores other themes related to environmental abuse, such as deforestation, pollution, and extinction. Each of these themes are portrayed from a viewpoint of animals.

The controls of NAHKA have been designed maximum accessibility in mind. The game introduces a very versatile control layout. The game can be played with one hand, either left or right.

The game has zero lines of text, as all the narrative is visual.
