In 2023, industry leading pharmaceutical company “HT Pharmaceuticals” found the complete cure for COVID-19, and they released the vaccine to the public. The virus made healthy humans into flesh eating monsters within seconds of the infection, but could only be spread through bite or blood consumption. 9 months later, mankind is scattered into smaller pockets spread across the world, while the rest of the world is abandoned and roamed by the infected. The original outbreak occurred in New York. Before the infection, you were the lead scientist who worked on the project for HT Pharmaceuticals, so you understand how it functions. Towards the end of the project, you retired very rich. Now you are part of a small group of survivors who live deep in the city, struggling to survive. Complete supply missions and conduct research studies to help find the cure to the infection.

You step into the role of a former scientist tied to the catastrophe, now navigating a ruined city alongside scattered survivors. This perspective adds a layer of narrative intent to the experience, as your character is not just trying to survive but also seeking to understand and potentially correct what went wrong. The story unfolds through mission briefings, environmental context, and occasional interactions with other characters, offering a basic framework that supports the gameplay. While it introduces an interesting angle, the narrative remains relatively straightforward and does not develop into something deeply layered or emotionally complex.
