SO YOU WANT TO KNOW IF YOU SHOULD BUY GP23?
Well here is my initial impressions on day one release with a few hours in.
CONTROLS-
the new controls will take a slight bit of getting used to if you are coming from GP22. but nothing a few hours wont convert you to.
in my honest opinion they were for sure a step in the right direction tho.
I know the devs were going for a experience that was more friendly to a wider variety of players, and not just the ELITE SIM (1000 times more hard than dark souls) players, I and a lot of the people that play these games religiously fall under. and honestly I fully get and respect that. why make a game that a small portion of people find appealing, when you can tweak it slightly and have a middle ground where both sides are happy with it, new and seasoned players alike. I feel this game nailed that pretty good.
For instance, if you are looking for that flickability that other titles were lacking, were the bike just didnt seem to want to turn sometimes... This game has that no doubt! (just make sure you're not on the brakes to heavy) and it will turn right into those corners with impressive speed. The turning is great in GP23.
The brakes are insanely more forgiving as well. GP22 would have you skidding, low or high siding, or back wheel coming up, with just the slightest squeeze of the trigger at speeds.
GP23 concentrates more on the entirety of the trigger, instead of all the feeling being at the start and maxing out half way down the front brake trigger. you will feel that vibration indicator, (of about to loose traction), way further down the trigger than what GP22 had at the beginning to middle of the trigger. Takes a ton of getting used to coming off GP22, but when you get the hang of it, you can bomb into some corners, kill you're speed off quick, and let up off the brakes for some nice corners, especially on the MOTO 2 bikes. I also feel this was a great step in the right direction.
both of these seem to be the main changes from 22 to 23 control wise, and you can tell they were trying to make it a better feel for both new players and seasoned racers. It may feel like a slight dumbed down difficulty level. but only a small fraction. I feel its worth the trade off, for the feel, and I think they made up for this with a tad bit harder AI.
(((SOME REVISED INFO I'M ADDING NOW BECAUSE I ALMOST FORGOT TO MENTION)))
I don't know how I almost looked over this control feature in original posting of review, but its a pretty big deal!
control mechanic, that for sure needs to be addressed.
The bikes now overshoot big time in corners, if you apply slightly to much throttle at all while cornering.
you can be mid corner, try to hammer on the acceleration, and the bike will just start to stand itself up, and you will no doubt loose the line you are holding. I find this new mechanic to be slightly off putting (mostly because its new and im not used to it) and takes a lot to get used to. It does make me a bit sad however, because im very used to risking a bit more acceleration at lean out of corners, to overtake in previous titles, that's not happening in GP23 unfortunately
I think I know why they implemented it, A- because it teaches you proper throttle hold in corners, and B- because a lot of players in previous titles, complained of falling over all the time with even just a little input, be that throttle, or brakes in corners.
now in GP23 you will not just give to much throttle and have the back slide out from under you, instead the bike just picks you back up at a safe lean angle, at the cost of you're trajectory. it seems to be there to make it less difficult to drop the bikes in my opinion. not a turn off, just different
This leads into my next observation of the game. In GP23 you will not out pace you're opponent by getting on more throttle in corners, you will loose that battle every time, and the bike will just stand up and go off you're line. Instead you make overtakes by out braking opponents, and on straights in slip streams. out braking is a ton easier in GP23 due to the forgiveness of the brakes, and on straights, as long as you are in the other riders slip steam ( against AI ) you will almost always overtake, even if you are on the sightly slower inline 4 of the Yamaha, does not matter, you will easily overtake a V4 ducati in a slip stream in GP23
Im glad I came back to edit and address this mechanic, because its crazy obvious coming from other titles, I honestly prefer GP22,s rendition better on this, but its not deal breaking, just be prepared to see the AI have more speed out of tighter corners, it does help you stay on line if you properly maintain throttle however, leading to some exciting tire to tire exits.
The one down side I have seen in the game is the wet weather tracks... absolutely disgusting handling... you might as well be having a race on a iced over piece of tarmac... I pray they address this because it is horrible at the moment... you have to almost stop at tight turns or you will just fall over... I ride in the rain IRL all the time... and it barley feels different, granted im not pulling 215 MPH... but still, this needs a patch ASAP
GRAPHICS- The graphics are as good as ever. I really like the menu change. I Kinda liked GP22,s darker vibe better. but the new menu feels new and fresh. I mean the background is a MotoGP photo shoot! It looks so cool!
In game wise I find everything to be more vibrant and less grainy that GP22. Not a bad thing, looks clean, but in photo editor, if you do not mess with the filters, it can look kind of cartoonish at times.
On a bad note for launch day, I found a ton of skipping and what looked like lagging going on, to the point that it was very bothersome. I heard its due to the rewind feature, its not my frames or hardware for sure. I'm sure they will come out with some patches for this soon however, it is day one release at the time of this review after all.
all and all I think they are a improvement from last year, if just a tad on the airy and vibrant side. not enough to be a turn off in any way however.
CONTENT- as far as this year goes, I think it might be a step back sadly... Last year we got the 2009 season. This year has no legacy bikes that I could find ATM. and you just have your MOTO 3, MOTO2, and MOTO GP current year bikes. I'm not even sure if I saw MOTO E in there either (but who cares about MOTO E really....) Don't quote me on that tho, didnt look to hard XD. They look and feel great, but I do miss riding those classic bikes for sure if they do not make a return.
Another thing that makes me furious as well ( I also mentioned this in my GP22 review) is the same garbage line up of shapes on the editing platform... If you want to make a custom anything, Helmet, Sticker, rider logo,... Its the same crappy shapes in the editor from the last couple of year! If ride 5 has the same lazy port of editing pieces, I will be super upset.
you're regular tracks are there, and they look better than ever, but just feels like somethings missing. I haven't had a chance yet to try career mode, but I think based off the videos before release its changed thank goodness. GP21 and GP22 career modes were not my favorite with the lame screen of a animated manager...
FINAL THOUGHTS-
as far as game play goes, GP23 is a great leap forward in my opinion.
the controls feel nice and fluid, and more forgiving in good ways, it does not take from the difficulty to much, and is a great middle ground for new players.
I think the devs did a great job with this mission.
game looks great as well!
content could be better, lacking a bit.
all in all worth the reduced price from the 60$ bracket, I would have paid full prices, but im a fan boy XD
get you a copy and GET GOUD! dont get mad, just practice!!!
SEE YOU ON THE TRACK SLOW BOYS!!!

💡Overview
🔸 MotoGP 23
This game is the latest installment in the long-running motorcycle racing series, and it brings with it a host of improvements and new features. As a passionate motorcycle racing enthusiast, I found myself thoroughly engaged and entertained by this game.
◼️ One of the standout aspects of MotoGP 23 is its realism. The developers have done an excellent job in capturing the essence of the sport, from the accurate physics and handling of the bikes to the detailed graphics and authentic sound effects. The sensation of speed and the intensity of the races are palpable, making each race feel like a true adrenaline-fueled experience.
◼️ The game offers a wide range of gameplay modes to suit different preferences. Whether you're looking for a quick race, a full championship season, or the challenging career mode, MotoGP 23 has you covered. The career mode, in particular, deserves praise for its depth and immersion. You can create your own rider, manage your team, and make strategic decisions that impact your racing career. It adds a layer of realism and longevity to the game.
◼️ The roster of riders and bikes is impressive, featuring the real-world stars of MotoGP. It's a thrill to compete against your favorite riders and strive to outperform them on the track. The AI opponents are generally well-balanced, providing a decent challenge without feeling unfair. However, at times, their behavior can be a bit predictable, which slightly detracts from the overall experience.
Visually
🔸Visually, MotoGP 23 is a treat. The tracks are beautifully rendered, with attention to detail in the surroundings and dynamic weather effects that enhance the immersion. The customization options for your rider and bike are also a nice touch, allowing you to personalize your racing experience.
Dnamic weather
Yes, thanks to the introduction of flag-to-flag races MotoGP 23 will also have dynamic weather, meaning races can be wet, dry or damp, with varying levels of wetness in between. Drying racing lines should be present as they also appeared in MotoGP 22.

Customization
🔸Motor Customization: In addition to personalizing the rider's appearance, players often have the option to customize their motors. This can include changing the motors paint scheme, selecting different stickers or decals, and even modifying certain parts to enhance performance or aesthetics.
🔸motor customization allows you to create a visually distinct and personalized machine that stands out on the track.
Online Multiplayer
◼️The online multiplayer mode in MotoGP 23 allows players to compete against others in thrilling races. It provides an opportunity to test your skills against real-life opponents and adds a competitive element to the game.
Firstly, the matchmaking system can sometimes be inconsistent. This means that the skill level of the opponents you face may vary greatly from race to race. While this can add an element of unpredictability, it can also lead to imbalanced races, where some players have a significant advantage over others. It would be ideal if the matchmaking system could better match players of similar skill levels to ensure more competitive and enjoyable races.
Additionally, occasional connection issues can arise in the online multiplayer mode. These issues can range from minor lag to disconnections from the race entirely. While they are not frequent occurrences, they can be frustrating when they do happen. It would be beneficial for the developers to address these connection issues to provide a smoother online experience for players.
Despite these concerns, the online multiplayer mode still offers an exciting opportunity to race against other players from around the world. When the matchmaking system works well and connections are stable, the races can be highly competitive and intense. Engaging in close battles with other skilled riders adds a layer of excitement and unpredictability to the game.
The Final Word⌛
Overall, MotoGP 23 delivers an exciting and immersive motorcycle racing experience for fans of the sport. With its realism, varied gameplay modes, and impressive visuals, it's a title that will undoubtedly please racing enthusiasts. Despite some minor flaws, it's a worthy addition to the MotoGP series and a solid choice for anyone looking to hit the virtual track.
🟩 Pros
Personalization: Customization allows players to personalize their characters or game elements, creating a unique and distinct appearance.
Creative Expression: It provides an outlet for players to showcase their creativity and individuality within the game world.
Immersion: Customizing clothes and skins enhances immersion by allowing players to feel more connected to their in-game avatars or items.
Variety: The availability of customization options adds variety to the game, allowing players to change up their look and keep the experience fresh.
Unlockable Content: Customization items can be earned or unlocked, providing a sense of progression and achievement.
🟥 Cons
Cosmetic Only: Customization options typically focus on aesthetics and don't affect gameplay mechanics, so they may not impact the actual gameplay experience significantly.
Limited Options: Some games may have a limited range of customization choices, which can restrict players' ability to create their desired appearance.
Paywalls: In some cases, desirable customization items may only be available through microtransactions, requiring additional spending.

MotoGP 23 is great, I'm really impressed with the dynamic weather and the new career mode is a breath of fresh air!
The handling and physics for MotoGP 23 has changed from last years instalment; A positive being that I do enjoy the later braking markers but I find the braking has been made too lenient, you are now able to brake by slamming on the brakes without much consequence which for me doesn't feel as rewarding as last year's braking.
The acceleration now lifts the bike up to a neutral position which can feel strange at first but can soon be mastered with practice. Overall a much easier MotoGP game for both pros and beginners.
Sadly bike retrieval has been removed and there is currently no historic bikes or game modes
I'm still however very much enjoying MotoGP 23 and will be adding up the gaming hours!
