There is no better MK than MKX. Period. Next two installments are just forced to be made by higher instances in WB Games. Poor Ed Boon that has to do what they say, when they say and how they say.

after 100 hours i can confidently say it's a pretty good game. probably the best mk to date.

Doesn't play nearly as good as MK9 and I won't ever get over that. But I like it more than MK11 or MK1 and the roster is great. The guest characters they added really feel like they belong and are designed well. Good game! I hope Mortal Kombat goes back to this style of game instead of whatever is going on in MK1 right now.
