Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite

I bought this game because of Maximillian Dood's upcoming MVCI: And Beyond mod. I'm glad I bought this game, because it is a BLAST. The mechanic and gameplay are surprisingly solid, and the characters have very interesting and unique movesets. I mostly agree with the criticism about the art direction, story, and roster (no X-Men?!), but the superb gameplay is what makes this game a major win. I hope to see future MVC titles implement some of the gameplay mechanics from this game.

My least favorite in the series but still a great game. Check out the MvC Infinite and Beyond mod for what the game should have been at launch, it's free and brilliant. Also really wish we had gotten some X-Men characters. Oh well, there is always MvC 5... right Capcom!?

JUST HERE FOR THE BEYOND MOD!

Easily the best Marvel mechanically. Shame they seemed happy to just piss on their fanbase and make terrible decisions about the cast and art direction.

Grabbed this because it was on sale, paying full price for this game is not worth it. Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is fine. It's not a bad fighting game. The series has fallen so far from where it was. If you don't already own Marvel vs. Capcom 3, grab that first. It's cheaper and takes up less space. This game takes up an unnecessary amount of space.

Marvel vs capcom infinite is a solid game however it has many weaknesses some of which are being fixed by a modding team however you should only get this game when it is on sale.

this includes a unappealing art style compared to the previous title
lack luster roster
very bad story

However it has it's strengths such as decent core gameplay mechanics and netcode


My problem with the roster is the marvel side the capcom side is not great but is much better then the marvel side. This is due to the fact that it is very MCU filled where in the previous titles we had also had X-men as fighters. while the capcom side isn't terrible I was disappointed about phoenix wright and virgil not being in the game There were still some capcom favorites for me on that side.

The art style is very unappealing compared to all previous titles however a mod is being made to fix this issue which is what encouraged me to purchase this game.


The story Is VERY poorly written and very short as well

Now for the good parts

Active switch while I like the whole calling in assist to extend combos in the previous MVC games Active switch was a refreshing experience and a very enjoyable one at that.

netcode Is pretty solid it is a very low chance you will get an online match however if you do it will be fairly decent connection

One thing I forgot to mention was the infinity stone mechanic this was the replacement for Xfactor and is a decently more balanced version depending on the stone you pick is the ability you get you can use the infinity stone more than once through out a match if you build up it's meter. Compared to Xfactor which was a huge clutch up mechanic it is way more balanced however both are fun to use in there own ways.

overall it's not the greatest game but it's not the worst and hopefully The mod being Worked on by Maximilian Dood can truly restore the franchises charm when it comes to the art style.

However base game is a 7/10
