If you love games with bad camera angles and you see that as a challenge, have I've got THE game for you!
Audiovisually this is a great game. If you love mountainbiking, you'll feel right at home. Lovely vistas, single tracks, shortcuts, ... Too bad the camera is an annoyance! It constantly changes position and especially when it changes to the side on angle, your depth perception disappears and crashes are almost a certainty. I would love a locked over the shoulder camera option.
Nevertheless I can recommend the game.

Best steam purchase in a good while. Been playing for 26 hours out of the initial 50ish hours I own it, and I don't even play these kind of games.. However there's something about Lonely Mountains that just feels cosy and familiar. Sound design, core gameplay, atmosphere all A++.
It's a unique concept with an excellent realization and plenty of content with replay-ability, provided you're willing to get good and learn the mechanics for 1-3 hours... I've been laughing at my crashes and giving kudos to the devs as I'm trying to find the quickest yet safe enough route down the creatively placed hills and rocks, trees and various obstacles..
I can't say this game is for everyone but it's certainly VERY fun once you get how things work. I suggest you get the demo and try to complete the challenges on that level. If by 1-2h you're not hooked, watch a speedrun.
I'm definitely enjoying everything about the game and will be looking for any DLC content as soon as it's available.

i'm genuinely not sure if i hate this game or not
while the general look and theme of this game might give off a relaxing, easygoing vibe, the actual gameplay is more of a challenging, arcade-style experience. controls are what they are. i find them to be responsive and intuitive for an isometric racer, but some people are gonna hate how this game feels no matter how responsive it is
i think my real beef with this game is its difficulty progression. while i love difficult games, and trying to get the best time on each trail is extremely addicting, the difficulty curve is too steep and new bikes are too cumbersome to earn. and the default bike sucks, it gets to the point where it's practically (and in some cases, literally) impossible to pull off the stunts the game expects of you to get the best time. while the base experience of playing this game is fun, it can be frustrating to feel like the game's suddenly getting exponentially harder for no reason other than not having a good enough bike
still though, if you can get past that frustration, this game is still a good time. i'd say that you should really play the demo before buying, because i think whether or not you'll like this game ultimately comes down to how it feels to you

Easy to learn, difficult to master. Definitely an addictive game. The game has very straightforward mechanics, but it can still surprise you after hours of playing. A simple yet beautiful way to spend your free time/breaks. 7.5/10

Absolutely beautiful. Love it.
Love killing my rider on purpose. The splats are awesome. Need more variation in the sounds, lol.
But on a more serious note... As others have said, the camera positioning at times can be awkward.
The biggest complaint so far, and this may well change as I spend more time in the game, is that you can be almost stationary and then touch a rock and you die. At other times you can be going much faster and touch a rock and survive. Seems wild to me. Surely at near stand still speeds you should just be able to keep going...
Other than this minor irritation, which will hopefully go away as I develop my skill, I'm loving it.
Get it on sale and it'll be all the more sweeter ;)
Devs: Would love an urban map. Maybe a BMX style track through car parks, shopping centres and leasure centres like the old skool BMX movie (showing my age).
Well worth a punt even if this is nothing like you've played before

I have a great time with it. You drive downhill with you bike, with many shortcuts and options to get the best time. Unlocking new bikes, items and courses. The visuals are very nice, tracks are challenging and fun, controls are very good once you adjusted to the perspective of the game. The game allows you to be creative in some parts and explore different ways to beat the tracks. The DLC is also very good, with nice tracks and challenges. Overall, it's just such a feel good game with addictive gameplay.
