When you develop a game with pure love and passion, you get Lego City Undercover.
An engaging story, creative gameplay, tons of vehicles and characters to choose from, all engulfed by a massive open world full of side missions, minigames and collectibles. Despite being a game mainly targeted at a younger audience, the dialogues and comedy are a lot of times fun and hilarious even to adults, in a very playful and healthy way.
The game has some flaws such as bugs (as usual with Lego games), the combat, despite being innovative and with cool animations compared to preceding Lego games, gets stale very quickly and is too strict (the game forces you to perform a finisher on the final enemy in groups 90% of the time) which is not difficult, just annoying and slow. I even prefer combat from the PS2 era of Lego games more than this just because you are in control and can demolish enemies quicker (although I do appreciate this game not respawning enemies like in older titles, yes I'm talking to you Lego Star Wars).
Levels in this game are all unique and each have their own vibes, however, I am not a big fan of them. They are missing that "instant classic" energy that the previous titles have, but then again, if you asked me what I would do to change the levels, I wouldn't know. They are well made, so this is just my personal experience.
Where this game excels is the open world content. If you only finish the main story then uninstall the game, you really haven't seen anything. Super creative parkour schemes that the game makes you use your brain for to discover how to climb to a certain point etc. Missions, blueprints, secret collectibles all define this game as an unforgettable experience for me, and I don't regret spending 80 hours on getting every achievement. Fully recommend.

Literally GTA V for kids, in the most respectful way. The humor is expectedly juvenile from a LEGO game and can be hit or miss, but there are a few good ones in there. The map is massive and filled with different tasks to complete outside of the story stuff, so exploration can be fun and rewarding, and the co-op works great.

You can beat the PC port of this game in the time it takes the original Wii U version to load.

The best Lego game of all time with massive original story and memorable characters. Many jokes and lines will be forever stuck in my head. It's challenging sometimes but in a positive way. I will never get tired of it. A game that is never being uninstalled from my PC. I love it with my whole heart.

The humor is peak lego style and its the gta of TT games (of course you play as a cop, trevor wouldn't fit well in the lego universe). The 100% achievement hunt is basically made of collectibles, but thats kind of the point, sit back and appreciate the throwback to childhood.

My very favorite Lego game of all time. It doesn't go the route of lego-fying well known movies like Star Wars or Indiana Jones. It's a very unique story set in the Lego City universe.
Tip: If you want to enjoy the game in a faster framerate, here're the steps:
1. Right click the game
2. Go to "Properties"
3. Under "Launch Options", type "MAXFPS 0" without quotations
4. Launch the game and enjoy Lego's unique story!

I had this game on the Wii U for years, and nearly got 100% completion. It is absolutely one of the best Lego games out there, and I highly recommend it!!! There are so many walk throughs for when trying to reach 100% completion, and the story is so fun. The best part is the driving tho! Literally GTA Lego version. So fun, and its by far one of my favorite games!!!
