Laser Cup
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to play air hockey with bumper cars? Then Laser Cup is the ideal game for you!
Select one of 8 teams from all over the solar system to compete in high paced, physics-based matches against your best friends. But be warned: They might not be your best friends once the match is over. There’s no need to worry though because even when you inevitably run out of friends you will still be able to compete in public matches or against AI enemies. Use crazy powerups, like magnets and shockwaves, to get an edge over your opponents.
The game looks and sounds like it’s ripped straight from an 80s arcade with its vectorized, neon graphics and its early-techno soundtrack. But don’t be fooled, the game is action-packed to the brim combining the best elements of the last 5 decades of sports video games.

I barely have a lick of time with this game, but I was able to pick it up and understand it quite easily. The controls were confusing at first, but thank goodness there was a controls listing option on the Main Menu. The game setup has a modest range of options for things like players per team, the CPU difficulty, win conditions (time/score, both of which can be customized), etc. The teams on both sides can even be customized, and the player can choose either side to play on. Now, this may only be a skill issue on my part, but the only gripe I've had so far with this game is the difficulty of the CPU itself. Even on easy, they tend to get the upper-hand a lot of the time unless I play aggressively.
Other than that, this is a nice little retro-style sporty game. Almost like what a concept-demo for Rocket League would have looked like, I say! If you have $5 to spare, this one's definitely a nice time-killer if you need it.
