Kyoto Colorful Days
“Kyoto Colorful Days” is a Visual Novel, set in the sightseeing hotspot of Kyoto.
This visual novel is populated by various different characters and the story can be enjoyed like a TV drama.
The story centers around the protagonist, a young man who is drifting by aimlessly in life, unable to commit to a job.
With no particular goal in sight, he visits Kyoto, a city to which his grandfather has connections.
In his meetings with the local people there, and two girls in particular, he will discover his own path in life.
– Romance visual novel
– Opening&Ending song with Japanese vocals
– Fully voiced in Japanese
Most characters other than the protagonist (the player) will talk in the local Kyoto dialect to really bring the atmosphere of the area to life.
-Including a mode where players can learn greetings and phrases in both standard Japanese and the Kyoto dialect.

I really like this game.
The characters are cute, the music is perfect and the story transmit a lot of knowledgement about Japan and the culture there.
It makes me feel relaxed.

Fairly short and a decent read, price depending. I ended up with KCD in a bundle leftovers trade, for around $2 it's worth taking a peek at. The main character is...a bit of a dolt (being nice here lol). Madoka has the best route if you like some bizarre backstory and can handle endings with solid impact.
Solid character art and a decent OST are only slightly impacted by weird scene loading times and the odd audio cutout. Big bonus points for Japanese voice work done with the correct regional dialect.
An average route with each girl will take about two hours, the whole game can be completed in under five with some save scumming. No achievements, but this does have nice profile backgrounds if you're into that sort of thing.

This is a short visual novel. Most of its appeal might be in that it uses the Kyoto-dialect rather than the Tokyo dialect most well-known in Japanese. The two heroines have interesting tales, and if you do the right things, you may even end up living happily ever-after with one.
Both are also being threatened by people on the wrong side of the law. One has issues with land-speculators. The other... she's being stalked by an admirer.
You can complete this game quickly enough, and if you like collecting the Trading Cards, they appear to be rather easy to complete sets.

Kyoto Colorful Day has 2 different Main Routes, meaning 2 different Girls, that you can play. Both of those are rather short and it wont take you longer then 2 hours to complete them both if you read relatively quick. Only because of this I only recommend this Game if you get it for a low Price. It also has a few technical Problems, as it is very slow and laggy at times and it takes like 5 seconds for me to open the Log. I also dont like the Sound Settings as there is a certain Point where the Audio just goes silent even though you arent on the smallest Position. Other then that I like the Art and Sprites they are both pretty good. The Story and Writing are also decent and I enjoyed it for the short Time that it took me to complete. It feels a little rushed though, since they really tried to fit the entire Story in this short VN, it would have been better if they would have taken their time a little more and written a bit of a more polished longer Story. Also there a just a small few Grammer Mistakes, but the Voice Acting is pretty nice.
Overall, it is a decent VN, but nothing new or like really exciting. Still if you get it for the 90% off like I did then you wont regret buying it.
Score: 6.4/10

If you want a game where you feel immersed in the traditional Japan, this game will be a good choice.
Pros:
* The Characters are interesting, even the ones that seem support characters at first.
* There are 2 storylines. you get one dependig on what you do in the first 2 days.
* The main character "has" a personailty and does something in both storylines.
* There are at least 5 endings in this game.
* The romance isn't the focus, the Drama is. (I put this here because there are many romance VNs there and this one is unique)
* I liked the characters voices. (most speak in Kyoto's Japanese which is different than the usual one)
Cons:
* VERY short... you can get all the endings in less than 3 hours.
* It's very easy to choose your storyline but it's easier to mess it up.
* The Villains are not given enough screen time to give them personality, so they appear pure evil. (and maybe that's the point but...)

I got this game on sale for $1 and I'm willing to pay more for a game this good.

I don't know, how I should say my opinion without spoiling too much. I'm going to try.
Positives:
The story is nice.
The two girls are kind and loveable, but stereotypical (at least from the point of visual novels).
No plot showing, which is great - comparing to many bait VN-s.
The design is consistent (if you have ever read Everlasting Summer, you know, what I mean); the OST is fine.
Teaching part (what is mentioned in the official description) - I would bow down to this idea (although I don't learn Japanese).
Negatives:
The story feels rushed by its 5 days of playtime (or 2, if you do it differently).
The solvable problems are tough even for a relative or for a friend, but for a stranger... And trusting in a foreigner after 2 days feels unrealistic. If you want, blame me for my opinion!
Neutral things:
The solutions aren't that satisfying for me (at least at one of them; you will see, which one I mean).
Not both of the routes leads to romance, which is an interesting twist.
It needs a bit of combining at choices to collect all of the artworks to the gallery.
The opening track doesn't really fit to the game.
I would recommend this for reading it once, but this isn't that big or wonderful to read it again.

Let me first start by saying I got a "Bad End" when I played this, but for me the story wasn't engaging enough to want to replay. It's definitely worth a go if you're a VN fan, and a really beautiful game, but not what I was hoping for. Any game that is going to give me a bad ending, I'd like to have more decisions available to influence. And I was really hoping for more of Kyoto!
