About the GameSet in a 90’s retro future, Inertial Drift offers a driving experience genuinely unlike anything you’ve played before – boasting twin stick drifting mechanics that need to be felt to be believed.
Welcome to Inertial Drift: Sunset Prologue – a place to put your racing credentials to the test before Inertial Drift arrives later this summer.
Hone your skills by the lakeside, then head to the coast for a sunset showdown and pitch your best time against the most skilled drivers on the planet.
Conquered the demanding twists and turns of the Sunset Circuit? Think again. Step into HPE’s high performance car – The Dragon – and discover what it REALLY means to master the art of drifting.
Unique Twin Stick Controls for Precision Drifting
The left stick handles steering, the right hand stick gives you total control over your drift. Intuitive for new players and uniquely challenging for pros.
Two Challenging Tracks
Lakeside Loop – The long, sweeping bends of the lakeside are the perfect place to learn your craft as you race around the water’s edge.
Sunset Sea Circuit – A gorgeous neon sunset provides the backdrop for this technically demanding track.
Two Fiercely Individual Cars
Coda Gecko – Coda’s most popular model, the Gecko strokes a balance between speed and control. It’s great all-round performance and predictable handling make it perfect for racers looking to hone their skills.
HPE Dragon – Intimidating to drive and to race, what HPE’s high-performance Dragon lacks in subtlety and manoeuvrability, it more than makes up for it in raw power and top speed.
The Best Is Still To Come
Inertial Drift is coming this summer to tear up the racing rulebook. Wishlist Inertial Drift now on Steam to be the first to receive updates on the full, 16 car and 20 track racing game.

Really cool racing game! I love the drifting mechanic, it's very original (it even has been copied by the last screamer game).
Graphics are also great, and I love the vibes.
My only issue will be the optimization. The game runs very well for like 5-10 minutes, then it starts to stutter. It looks like a memory saturation issue.

Very unknown game that should be more popular. The drifting mechanics are very good even on keyboard and the graphics are beautiful. Was able to run on my setup so it's well optimised.
8.5/10
would be better if you had a bigger car selection

i think this game is chill, relaxed, and great to play while having spotify full blast in my earbuds. the designs are also top notch and almost nostalgic in a way. <3

Lovely game, graphics are great: its a mix between cartoon 2d'ish graphics then mixed in with hyper realistic graphics. sound effects are amazing, over all its a great game but one tiny suggestion is you should be able to change key binds within setting.

Very cool drifting mechanics and art style. I found out that if you manage to connect an N64 controller to the game something unexpected happens. Definitely try it out guyz.

Inertial Drift: Sunset Prologue is a *free* little slice of an arcade racer where someone said:
> “What if we made a drift game so anime it needs **two sticks** to turn?”
You don’t just steer.
You steer with the left stick and control the *drift angle* with the right stick.
It’s like driving and playing a twin-stick shooter on the same controller while a neon sunset judges you.
---
### Pros
* Controls: once they click, it feels **incredible**. You’re not just sliding, you’re writing cursive with your car.
* Twin-stick drifting means you can do those big, stupid, full-corner slides you always see in montages and never pull off in other racers.
* Art style is full 90s anime VHS: purple skies, orange sunsets, glowing city lights—every frame wants to be a desktop wallpaper.
* Free prologue, so you can find out if your thumbs can handle this control scheme before committing to the full game.
* Leaderboards & time trial structure: you *will* lose an hour trying to shave half a second off a single corner.
---
### Cons
* First 10 minutes: “Wow this feels awful.”
Minutes 11–60: “Oh. OH. I’m just bad.”
* If you try to drive it like a normal racing game, the car responds by becoming a projectile.
* Tutorial explains it, but your muscle memory from every other racer will fight you like a final boss.
* After playing this, every other racing game’s drift will feel like it’s on training wheels.
---
### Peak Sunset Moments
* Entering a hairpin way too fast, full-sending the drift angle, and somehow coming out perfectly aligned like you meant to do that.
* Nailing one perfect lap: every corner linked, every transition clean… then spending the next 30 minutes failing to ever repeat it.
* Watching a top-10 replay and realizing your “aggressive” line is actually “grandma going to the store” compared to them.
* Telling yourself “just one more run” while the sky has been permanently sunset-colored for 45 minutes.
---
**9/10**
A stylish, free prologue that’s less “racing demo” and more “thumb discipline training simulator.”
Would once again underestimate the twin-stick drifting, ping-pong off every guardrail, then suddenly become a sideways god for exactly one lap and chase that feeling all night.
