I am Bread

The novelty of playing a game where the protagonist is a slice of bread trying to get toasted is worth the $2.59 (Summer sale 2025) price. I wouldn't recommend I am Bread at full price. Controls are clunky by design, the difficulty varies, but most levels are quite difficult. It's good for some cheap laughs and some short entertainment.

🥖 Well, it's not as fun as «Surgeon Simulator» or even «Goat», but the idea is definitely crazy, backed by a fairly simple story. Obviously, it's a bit of a "rage game", because physics don't play a big role in funny sims, but it's important here and at the same time can be bad. However, being a YT's title, ordinary players haven't really even tried to complete it (if you check the achievements). In fact, ~70% of them can be easily unlocked in under 5h, without any guides, but if most didn't even bother to complete the short seven-level campaign, it's not surprising that the game is relatively forgotten. So long, toast, only crazy people will do your time trials for platinum, and for the rest — the game was just okay.

Bought this in 2015 because of Markiplier. Played a few times and put it away. Then came back on my steam deck while waiting for my car to get worked on and didn't realize how much more features they added to the game! I'm laughing my ass off most of the time playing zero G mode and bagel race too!

Definitely recommend it and check out all the bread puns it comes with too. Lots of Dad joke bread puns as I came back to it

I managed to beat the first five levels in one session, so either I'm a god of gaming or people are overreacting with the whole "rage game" thing, that being said, this game is pretty fun, satisfying to beat, and chock -full of varied game modes to ensure it doesn't get... stale.
Fair warning though, this game WILL destroy your hands, even with a controller, so I suggest you take frequent breaks.

Visually simple game, hard to master controls, incredible frustrating gameplay, when i though i was getting in "the zone" and was about to became a toast, i felt, made me rage quit xD not something i could recommend to chill, but great game to stream like jump king or so.
