I Am Bread is a quirky and challenging physics game. You control a slice of bread on a mission to become toast, navigating through various household environments. The unique control scheme, where each corner of the bread is controlled by different buttons, makes the game both fun and frustrating. You must avoid dirty surfaces to maintain your “edibility” while finding creative ways to toast yourself. The game’s simple graphics and humorous tone add to its charm.

I only recommend this game if you see it on sale. I say this not because I don't think it's a good game, but because there's a lot to it that screams that the devs were enjoying the game until they weren't and dropped it without a word. The best example is the fact all the other bread game modes are essentially reused assets without much change. The biggest show of this is the lack of any sort of 8th level, even if it'd just be story, leaving a blank space in the level select menu. It'd be nice if we had a continuation of the game's lore by giving an explanation as to why the bread is becoming sentient and fulfilling particular goals.
Even if you personally don't care about that or don't think that sufficient evidence, there's also the fact the main menu still says the game is still early access... since 2015. or the fact that whenever you want to exit the game in a normal fashion, it freaks out and only closes after a windows pop-up saying the program isn't responding (I mean, it's technically doing what I wanted, but in a really drawn out manner.
For casuals, it's fine.
For completionists, it's relatively easy once you're intimate with the controls.

This is one of those games where you need to spend some time on to master its controls. Once you get a feel for the in-game physics, you can play with a good amount of ease, then it becomes fun to play. Although, it may not be fun when you first start playing.
You don't need a controller to play this. I play the game just fine with a keyboard and mouse and I actually prefer it over a controller.
The replayability is decent. Once you finish the levels, you can play them again to try to get a better rating or try to accomplish your objective differently. The 3 differing other game modes also adds some variety in game play.
The difficulty is moderately hard. If you're not an expert, the story's seven levels + epilogue will keep you busy. The game is difficult as first, but you'll likely get better over time, then the game becomes relatively easy.
The game is fun overall. My only wish is that it has more replayability. Just as a personal idea of mine, I would like it if this game allowed the player to create their own levels, like what Portal does. It would certainly give me a reason to play this some more and give it a lot more replayability.

This game drives me crazy. For example, even playing with controller it's so hard. That I almost threw myself out of the window. But to be fair. This game is purposely gonna make you mad.

I Am Bread is challenging at first, but it's well controlled with quick practice. Don't let internet rage quits fool you!
This game tests your creativity and strategy in a sandbox-like setting of goods to play with. The secondary game modes are nice, but you'll likely find most entertainment from story mode.
I Am Bread has a special place in my heart. I was oddly obsessed with this game in my youth, even buying it when it was in early Alpha. Due to my computer at the time, I was unable to fully enjoy this experience until now. <3

This game caused me a lot of suffering. And yet, the goofy gameplay is still appealing. If you have a short temper, you should probably not play this, but otherwise it's a fun playthrough. 100% completion is challenging, but possible.
