Dead or Alive? Make up your mind, stranger. We don’t like that undead business here in Louisiana… Survive solo or with friends as you look to fulfill your basic needs of food, water and shelter, crafting your own tools and weapons while you secure your camp and face flesh hungry zombies.
Several years have passed since the original How to Survive events on Los Riscos’ archipelago. Now the local infection has turned into a worldwide pandemic. Everyone around the world, groups of people or lone wolves, try to survive one more day among the infected, attempting to recover a semblance of normal life. You find yourself in Louisiana and your survival chance starts by building a safe camp and becoming a skilled survivalist. Find water, food and shelter and talk to the unconventional locals to make your way around.

I'm not gonna lie the first one was more interesting and more of a story driven adventure, this one goes for a sort of psuedo sandbox setup that at times seems neat.
There are plenty of things to do and if you are ok with mostly guiding your own adventure or if you have a group that helps to keep things interesting.
If that sounds good to you then this game can actually be a good bit of fun, otherwise I would recommend trying the first game.

Despite mixed reviews I still think this game is good. If you looking for a coop game to have fun with your friends this game could be a good option, specially if its on discount.
Your goal as a player would be building and defending your base. So overall gameplay could repetitive, therefore I do not recommend it for solo play.
But I really would like to see How to Survive 3. With improved base building options, more weapon, chat and better item management UI.

I mean despite all the negative reviews on this game i still found 50 hours of fun gameplay from it kinda gets boring at the end because of all the grinding tho

If you like killing zombies and collecting resources to build your own base, then this game is for you. It is a fun, chilling and humorous grind.
Unlike some survival games which your character eats like an elephant, deliberately making you hungry for resources, this game actually gives you a more lenient way of collecting resources without worrying too much about food and water all the time. Moreover, you can also upgrade your character's skills to reduce the needs further.
Just hoping there is a blocking & dodging system for melee weapons to provide more variety.
All in all, it is a good game and definitely worth your try.
