It's a GREAT game but I think it missed becoming a widely-popular speedrunning game for 2 reasons:
1. The default mode is just very jank. Swerving to pick up (almost uncapped) boost speed is - for most - a very unsatisfying way to cut time. Largely because it ends up invalidating most of the map and routing that makes it fun. Double jump mode should be default... it just plays a lot better overall.
2. Times become invalidated due to patches tweaking the 'balance' and fixing bugs. This isn't uncommon in games but it's usually the case with games that aren't intended for speedrunning. With Hot Lava, they really should have taken a lot of care to preserve the timing between patches.
But it's still a great game with a load of excellent courses. Highly recommended if you have a few friends to compete with.

Overall, Hot Lava is a fun parkour/action game with a lot of potential. Once they fix things like the control design, it’ll become a solid game on Apple Arcade. Until then, Hot Lava remains as a great game for the people with the correct equipment, i.e. a Bluetooth controller. The environment and unique universe will keep you entertained from beginning to end, and thanks to the different starts and collectibles there are, you have a lot of reasons to keep playing this game

This game is very fun and makes you addicted fast!
The urge to become the best and getting your best time even shorter.
It is so simple but still so great.
Everything is easy to understan. Mechanics, superpowers and what you have to do.
The most difficult levels are the ones with catching your sister, at least it was for me.
Also you can enjoy playing this game with your friends!
All in all I really love playing this game!
