GOD WARS The Complete Legend
The game introduces new elements such as “Status Effects”, “Hate Elements”, “Decoys”, and “Summoning Beasts” into this traditional Tactical RPG. It adds both fun and attraction while inheriting the lineage of classical Tactical RPG making this a truly advanced and ultimate edition of Tactical and Strategy RPGs. Players can now enjoy the main scenario, “The Future Past” and additional challenging stages, “Labyrinth of Yomi” and “The Deep Levels” in this game. “Labyrinth of Yomi” is an intermediate level stage where players are required to fully develop their characters “Jobs” to clear the stage. New challenges for advanced players awaits at the last stage, “The Deep Levels” where players will need to configure and determine optimal formations from the character’s exclusive job and exclusive skills as well as coming up with effective strategical tactics. The heroine “Kaguya” controlling her destiny by her own will and her friends who join along the path on this journey establishes the legendary ancient kingdom of “Yamataikoku” by overcoming various obstacles and challenges. Among the friends and other characters who will come across in this adventure are 25 including “Momotaro”, “Urashima”, "Okuninushi", “Sakuya”, a motif of “Konohanasakuyahime”, and “Iwanaga” who are all legendary heroes of myths and fairy tales representing ancient Japan.

It is indeed a better and expanded version of God Wars: Future Past.
God Wars The Complete Legend started with the tale of Kaguya, the daughter of goddess Tsukuyomi, imprisoned in Fuji as a contingency sacrifice should the gods lose their temper. One night, amidst a raid for food with some other locals, a young man named Kintaro frees the young maiden with help from his friend Kuma. The three set off to help Kaguya begin her journey to locate her mother and open a dialogue with the chief deities her mother may have last spoken to. Along the way, you will meet various characters who will join you in the quest, each possessing a unique skill set to be used and mastered.
Each character can have a main job class, a secondary subclass, and a class unique to themselves. As you use skills in combat, you earn job points for the associated classes. Job points let you unlock or upgrade skills. Earning enough experience in a class will grant you level-ups, while reaching certain level requirements with a job class allows you to unlock more job classes. Within a few hours, you will have more available to you than you know what to do with, and the game has over 30 classes to tinker with. With enough time and patience, you can create some wild combinations, giving players plenty of reasons for grinding and experimenting. Although the combat is competent, but I still personally find that it can get a bit bland due to its methodical pacing.
In term of visual perspective, I personally applaud for its terrific anime-style artworks and cinematic scenes. The number of cutscenes in the storyline do reminding me a lot of a live-action manga style especially in the aspect of bubble text box conversations. The culturally appropriate soundtrack also quite enthralling as it pulls us into the world of ancient Japan while keeping the action going.
Overall, God Wars The Complete Legend is a delightful classic simulation JRPG game with a small glimpse on how the genre could evolve without abandoning its turn-based structure. Each of the characters are quite individualistic and unique. Not to mention, the voice acting and cinematic cutscenes are done superbly. I personally did not face any technical issues. The menu is made easy to navigate on the world map, but the combat menus can be a little too cluttered during the mid-game and the game can be a bit grindy or getting a bit dull due to its repetitive battle pacing. It may not be the most memorable game, but it is more than enough here to keep fans busy for dozens of hours.
