Traverse a dried-out seabed littered with the remains of a decaying civilization. Keep your unique vessel going, overcome numerous obstacles and withstand the hazardous weather conditions. How far can you make it? What will you find?

FAR: Lone Sails is a quiet journey across a dried ocean in a machine that constantly needs attention. You refuel it, repair it and keep it moving while the world around you stays almost completely silent. No enemies, no dialogue, no real pressure. Just distance, wind, and the routine of maintaining something fragile.
It’s simple, but it never feels empty. The game doesn’t explain much. It just lets you move forward.
There were moments where I slowed down on purpose. Not because I had to, but because I didn’t want it to end yet.
When the engine stops, the silence hits harder than you expect.

This game isn't my thing. I'm not really into side scrollers, steam punk, or puzzles. I lean toward open world, base building or strategy games. But the ratings were for this game were awesome and I got it on sale for $2!!
Yeah, I finished it in four hours. It isn't long. But the graphics are crisp and smooth, the art styles is beautiful, the music is well themed and the entire game was very immersive. You can see the love that went into this game.
I'll replay it. I'll recommend it. Even for old grognards. This was fun. Well done.

You'll probably get six hours of playtime out of this game, but if it isn't some of the best six hours of gameplay you'll find, then I'll eat my hat. Is it "Red Dead Redemption" in RDR2 levels of "holy cow, this hit me in the feels"? No. Not by a long shot. But this game is.... something else. It's a glimpse of something unique among the crowds of over-crowded, crazy-coloured FPSs and other new garbage. The game devs clearly had a vision, and if you ask me, they nailed it. The colour pallate, the simple/intuitive controls, the lack of a defined story but the structure, the framework, the scaffolding for one's imagination to follow the game.... it's amazing.
It could also run on a microwave. Or maybe a typewrite. So that's nice too.

Great game, but very short - just about 5 hours. Checked next new Lone Sails game -- it uses denuvo, I boycott games with crappy malware called denuvo.

The journey is the reward. Embark a locomotive and keep it running through a desolated world. The environmental story telling is well presented. I enjoyed this journey, keeping the locomotive up and running, stopping to solve puzzles and keep going afterwards. The backgrounds are well made and I enjoyed looking into the far. Just arriving at the destination seems a bit unsatisfying, but the game is about the journey not about the end. And this journey I enjoyed a lot.
Game worked flawless without any crashes on my ROG Ally CachyOS system. (specs attached).

Had so much fun playing this short game. I only had a few glimpses of game screenshots prior to playing it and I have to say it's a great indie game with an impressive art direction. During my entire playtime and despite the gloomy undertones of the post-apocalyptic world, I couldn't shake off the idea that it looked like a beautifully realized canvas painting.
The game is a simple vehicle side scroller with relatively easy puzzle challenges. The easiness of the game is never a turn off as as the meticulous design and placement of said puzzles do an excellent job of driving the journey forward. Throughout your playtime, you're constantly wondering what is happening in the world. The game doesn't tell you outright either but puts in enough details for you to make an inference.
If you're on the lookout for a short, cozy experience, I strongly recommend this game.
