Fun game but ♥♥♥♥ epic for buying it and getting rid of all the free cosmetics and making it all micro transactions

Used to be peak before Epic Games bought them but still fun regardless

Real fun, another 100%. Sad to see it fall apart tho. Was such an innovative idea, which got destroyed by epic games. Happy to being able to experience it for the first time.

It was good before Epic came. Then was born the child of evil.

This review means little as Epic have done a very unepic move by delisting this on Steam. Clowns. I'm making this out of principle anyway, because I'm strange.
I only chose to buy this (yes, buy) to liberate myself from my Nintendo Switch's Joy-Cons. Unlike what insufferable PCMR users say it's a decent console but those joysticks are tremendously bad. Set me back £8.
Worth it. For clarification, I play on Linux Mint 22.3 (I say this a lot, but it's not exactly the norm, is it?), and I know anti-cheat works on the penguin (yes, seriously), but I was still quite impressed by seeing it launch out of the box. Eventually. It takes a while.
I'd highly advise that the three people reading this review link their Steam accounts before booting, because the browser in the game is as daft as half of Epic.
Once you do, your achievements sync. At once.
I'm not reviewing Fall Guys in depth, the game's the game. It is surprisingly fun with other people, though. I don't play this solo.
I will say, after the Switch 2 (insert hilarious pun here), the Switch 1 version of the game saw a gigantic performance boost because there was a smidge of effort put into optimisation. I don't think the Steam version ever saw this because... Tim Sweeney, so it's not brilliant on the performance department. Expect random disconnects too (although kernel 6.8 played better than 6.17 for a brief moment). Even then the game's netcode needs work (and I dearly hope it does get some work after Epic laid off a bunch of people).
The game itself is fun. Being freed from controllers that don't work is more fun. Epic games relisting this (is that even possible?) would be even more fun. Unfortunately Tim is strange.

Technical stuff:
Linux Mint 22.3 as the above on kernel 6.17 predominantly (and 6.8 for a while). 1080p, 60fps but the game will chug if there's a lot going on (I blame the game here). Played out of the box with Proton 10.0-3, and continues to do so now.
16GB of RAM, Steam's stupid. 13 reviews from now it'll think I have no RAM at all.

Very happy not to have to go through Epic Games Launcher hehe
This is one of my favourite "Time-Passer" games, I've played it across various platforms over the years and I just love the entire concept. The game is a blast wither your playing solo or with friends, and they've added so much that on paper some seem weird but end up working and helping the game.
Highly recommend this silly game :)

Still a great game after all these years! We dont even need the epic launcher to play it anymore!
Happy to have this on steam!
