When the Earth falls to an extra-terrestrial invasion, humanity becomes an endangered species. Earthfall is a four-player cooperative shooter that challenges players to survive hordes of ruthless alien drones and their inscrutable masters. Traverse the Pacific Northwest with friends or AI teammates in a desperate guerilla war against an invading extraterrestrial force. Fight against the ever-changing horde and save what’s left of humanity. Utilize futuristic weaponry, upgrade deployable barricades with fire or electricity, control mounted turrets, and battle through 15 levels of story-driven co-operative play.

Okay left 4 dead clone. The game came around in a lull of game in that style, but it feels sort of flat.

Gone too soon, wasted potential...
So I was browsing my steam library and suddenly I remembered that game.
I was a bit surprised when I saw that the last time I played it was back in 2018 and only put like 5 hours into it, maybe I was not into coop shooters much back then.
Anyway I decided to give it another shot and after playing it a bit more I think Earthfall is kinda underrated and deserved better than the rather quick death it had.
The graphics are still decent, it's running on an older version of Unreal Engine 4 but you can tweak some files to make it look slightly better if you know what your doing.
Earthfall gunplay is enjoyable, the guns are satisfying and they feel impactful, sadly there is not enough weapons at our disposal, melee combat is mediocre though.
The campaign is nice but short, it can be finished in around 4 hours, but unfortunately the objectives during missions are very repetitive and boring.
At least there is more survival maps available after beating the campaign if that's your thing.
Level design is alright, the maps are well detailed and their layouts are fine, nothing groundbreaking but I've seen worse.
Not a bad game at all to be honest but far from great, Earthfall is basically an average low budget indie Left 4 Dead/Back 4 Blood clone where you fight aliens instead of zombies.
Too bad the sales tanked and the developers split up and abandoned the game, also quite a joke they removed steam cloud saves because when I came back to this I lost all my old progress and had to restart from level one again.
I would say it's still worth buying in sale for cheap if you have friends to play it with.
Playing solo is not really a good experience though, it's possible but most missions will feel like a chore because the bots only shoot things but don't really contribute to the objectives.

it is a fun little alien shooter where you shoot aliens and play with freinds or if you do invasion or also custom wepoans and more like going solo
