I gotta say, I enjoyed more the story from this DLC than the story from the main game. Other than that, it comes with a lot of new content, a driveable car, a vast open countryside, and a mysterious cult to figure out about. The side quests are very nice, Tolga and Fatin return, some characters are interesting, and running over zombies is fun! I also really liked the plot twist in the end!
Overall, a pretty well done DLC!

A good DLC but a bad Dying Light DLC.
The way this DLC is integrated into the main story is how you do DLC right. It simply adds more to the game while letting you keep your progress from the main story onto the DLC expansion. Anything you earn is also transferred back to main story. The content in the DLC itself has been sufficiently worked on and is pretty high quality stuff, adding a lot of additional hours of gameplay into your experience.
The problem with this DLC is that while the content is "good", the DLC is for Dying Light, a game heavily based on parkour. This DLC has almost no parkour, and is instead heavily focused on driving long distances between missions. This DLC tried something different but unfortunately it didn't nail it very well. While the missions in this DLC are fine, the gigantic open world is big and empty. The pacing is this DLC's main issue.
The base game has fantastic pacing, always keeping you on the move as you run, jump and parkour around tight terrain. The base game rarely had any dull moments. This DLC does away with all that and gives you a customizable buggy which sounds good on paper but is executed poorly. The big open world in this DLC is simply too big and going from intense parkour to boring-ass driving 3 KM to where a mission takes place is simply not fun. I gave up on this DLC after just a few hours because of the insane amount of driving you have to do between each mission.
It's still a pretty good DLC, just not a good one for the game it was based on as it changes the gameplay to something completely different. This DLC is more similar to something like Far Cry rather than Dying Light so it's best you get into it with that mindset.

I love Dying Light, but The Following is definitely a mixed bag for me. More of the story is a major plus but the constant driving back and forth can get tedious when nearing completion of the DLC. It seems like Techland also doubled down on the gunfight sequences this time, making you fight against even more enemies with esp + aimbot + humongous health pools. I can personally look past everything and still have a good time, except for the second ending fight sequence. They must have had play-testers try to find the most mind-numbing, tedious, and annoying way to cheese a boss, and then made it even more difficult to do so. Just pick the first option and watch the canon ending on YouTube to save yourself some time. Thankfully everything else is workable and I only ran into a few serious bugs throughout my playthrough.
Overall, a great pickup on sale if you enjoyed the normal DL story mode.

This DLC itself is a whole new game about the continuation of the base game's story. It has a giant new map 10/10 Story which is better than main games story which makes you think why a DLC's story is way better than main games story. It also adds a buggy car which you can drive and customize and a Driver skill tree to upgrade your buggy or master your driving skills.
Whatever you say if Dying light is 10/10 The Following is 11/10
