Dreadnought is about one thing: team-based, capital ship combat. It’s a free-to-play shooter that puts you at the center of battles in space and above the surfaces of colonies across the solar system.
But it’s not just you and your guns against the world. You have your teammates—outlaw captains like yourself—and a range of ballistic weaponry, Goliath nuclear torpedoes, and long-range Tesla cannons to fill out your earth-shaking arsenal.
Combat in Dreadnought takes place at a deliberate pace, giving you just enough time to react to an ever-changing battlefield. During each match, you’ll be able to respawn as a different vessel and switch up your strategy—all while the opposing team does the same.
Winning isn’t just about cannons, missiles, and torpedoes. Each vessel is equipped with an energy management system that gives your crew the ability to activate shields, boost engine power, and amplify weapon damage. Using this energy wisely is key to coming out on top.

Disclaimer, I play this game because Fractured Space died.
The good:
-Matches don't take a long time to complete.
-Combat is simple but quite satisfying.
-Graphics for the most part.
The bad:
-"Micro-transactions" are gonna kill the game because they are too ridiculous.
-Its already happening.

Being perfectly honest, this game is fun. You will enjoy it either by yourself or with friends. Everything is really balanced in the beginning when you're playing recruit and veteran rank. (2 out of 3 ranks)
Yes the player base is quite a bit low sometimes and you will be matched with bots in a lot of games. You won't mind in the beginning, until it becomes a game of 'who can kill the most bots first wins'. These games are aggravating and not fun. But when you have all humans, deeply satisfying.
The huge problem with this game starts at legendary rank. Where after the culmination of all your efforts, you will now enter big boy territory. You feel like a hot shot with your tier 4 ship. And then you will be obliterated, over and over again. You will die in seconds without understanding what happened. You will experience this huge gap between your tier 4 noob equipment ship, and the tier 5 gods with all the right modules who crush you. The amount of loses (you will lose 90% of the time unless hard carried) required to even fully upgrade your tier 4 ship is in the hundreds. Not to mention when you FINALLY unlock a tier 5 ship and you need another hundreds of matches to fully upgrade the tier 5. Even then, you will not find satisfaction unless you are using the most broken ship in legend: the corvette, while this ship was a fun gimmick, glass cannon in recruit and veteran rank. It was turned into an unstoppable power house in legend. And if you're not using it, you're losing to it. Your only hope of salvation is to have your allies help you shoot it down, even then your odds of survival are slim. This rank in unbalanced to the extreme.
This game ends for me at Veteran rank. I have the most fun there, balanced and not difficult to rank up your ships. You will enjoy this game if you stay there.

I'm all for niche sci-fi games. This isn't quite a simulation and is more of an arcade-like experience
Game isn't perfect, but it has cool ship designs, and the framework of a good game is there.
I was late to the party, perhaps changes back in the day drove away the bulk of its player base. However it's not as bad as people make it out to be, and without people, there won't be a reason for it to improve.
I'd hate to see such a game with a fun concept die.

Pro's:
-This is a really fun, action packed and good game.
-Graphics are amazing
-Diverse gameplay and specific roles that can be tweaked into your liking
-Gameplay is pretty straight forward and even though there are only 5 tiers of ships divided into 5 Classes, there are TONS of upgrades and possibilities to customize.
-Lot's of gamemodes that keeps it all fresh
Con's
-A small player base. EU primetime it can take up to 4-10 min to get into a game.
-AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: Hangar interface is absolutely horrible. Cluttered, oversized text and icons, pushy microtransactions in lower right corner and a menu system that you'll never get used to.
If they could scale it all down and make the menues less intrusive I'm sure it could be a quick fix. I would personally rather look at my awesome Dreadnought than some poorly designed interface that takes up all of the screen.
Conclusion:
I have played this game more than the 4 hours it says here, back in the days before they went on Steam.
It's great fun to be back and I know I'll be playing a couple of days over the summer.
The game is free to play but if they can't pull more players into the game I don't think I'll throw any money after gametime. But still great fun.
And for the love of GOD! Fix that hangar interface...

I came into this game really late, and I know I only have a few hours in but I gotta say.....
I really enjoy the dynamics of this game. Even when I'm losing, I am still having fun.
For those who are curious, this like putting World of Warships/Tanks/Warthunder's basic f2p structure but making it about huge, angry, and powerful capital ships with "abilities." You research your ships tech as you grind XP on it, then purchase the tech. Each major purchase makes you one step closer to your next tier ship of its make and class.
There are fast corvettes, there are heavy tanks of ships, and a little bit in-between. The variety of ships is limited, and it seems the devs love making hero ships instead of expanding their main fleet. The game play is a bit slow, as you chug through the air/space/atmosphere, but as you learn your ship you will get better every game.
The abilities add some flair. It can be extra armor, a missile salvo, and WMD's. It is a fun way to play this style of game.
The player base is dying, you don't often find a full player match. The game will insert bots where it can, and they're not....horrible. There are times when they act dumb, but mostly it balances out to me. Especially in the lower tiers where less players are. I feel like this helps new players enjoy and learn the game.
As you move to the Veteran tiers, you will find more players. They dont seem mean, and they really know how to play tactically. And in turn, they've sucked me in.
I hope this game can survive, and grow again. The gameplay alone makes it worth it. While I wouldn't advise giving this game money with the smaller player base (and you never know how long a f2p can last in this state), we should do what we can to keep it alive. Draw more players in, and get development going again.... then spend money on it.
Overall, even when I'm getting my cheeks slapped, I like it.
