Returning to play this after having played the Dragon Age: The Veilguard .
Playing the Veilguard has made me appreciate Origins so much more. The Veilguard had absolutely terrible character and story plot, so I'm coming back to play Origins so I can have a good weekend with an interesting story and characters. The older graphics don't even bother me - this is a masterpiece.

After finishing Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the first thing I did was dive into Dragon Age: Origins. From the start, it was clear this game is something special—a world full of choices, adventure, and memorable characters.
One of the best parts of the game is how much freedom it gives you. You can shape your story through the decisions you make, and those choices have real consequences. The dialogue feels like it’s straight out of a great book, making every conversation meaningful. The combat is also a standout—a mix of action and strategy that’s both exciting and rewarding.
The characters are another highlight. Some you’ll love, others you’ll hate, but none of them will leave you feeling indifferent. They’re written so well that they feel like real people, not just characters in a game.
Still, the game isn’t without its flaws. It can be tricky to run on modern computers, often needing patches or fixes to work properly. If you want to play in certain languages, like Russian or Korean, you’ll need to search online for extra resources (this refers to The Ultimate Edition in Steam). And since EA has shut down the game’s servers, you can’t sync your achievements to your EA account anymore. But honestly, that last issue can be seen as a positive. Without the EA launcher, the game runs on its own, making it simpler and easier to enjoy.
Dragon Age: Origins isn’t perfect, but it’s a truly unforgettable experience—a game that sticks with you long after you’ve finished it.

The pinnacle of Bioware's Golden age. A RPG for all time which has yet to be surpassed. I still come back to play and enjoy this masterpiece.

Great game. Reminds me of the original Baldur's Gate. Give it a try.

Re-playing this after Veilguard just made me appreciate it even more. Not even the crashes and old graphics bother me as much as Veilguard's poor writing.
This game is a masterpiece and it makes me so sad to see how the franchise ended up.

I bought this game Nov 7, 2009. My first steam purchase. Truly an all time classic of a game which has aged very gracefully.
I wish I could say the same for the franchise past this point.
