Kill enemies before they have a chance to attack
Cling to walls to overcome obstacles and reach enemies in different ways.
Get ready for tough challenges against bosses.

Rustic, arcadey and visceral. Wall running and teleport attacks are welcome surprises. As are blocks and parries that can end a run in seconds. And weapons that can be used or thrown. There's way more fun here, than the asking price suggests.

Some indie lack of polish is showing, but the simple mechanics and fun gameplay make up for it.
There is a story, but it doesn’t give you a lot. The intro movie with images and text underneath moves so fast that you can’t even read it. You also get some notes when beating stages, but those make even less sense. All I know is that you need to climb to the top.
The one-shot fighting system is the major attraction. There are no health points or any artificial mechanisms to prevent you from killing someone. If you hit something, it will die. Of course, the same goes for you. The only defensive move that are used by you and enemies is a block. This move blocks everything from melee weapons and ranged weapons.
Attacking and blocking uses stamina. While it recharges pretty quick on its own, you can also speed up the process by pressing a key. This leaves you open to enemy attacks, so it’s not a good idea to use it when you’re surrounded. There are a couple of other moves that may come in hands.
First is the jump backwards that can replace blocking. I almost never used it. And the second is a teleport move. This is a lot more useful because it’s needed to get over tall walls or some other blockade. It can also be used in battle for a quick surprise attack. What I don’t like is that you have no idea how far it takes you. Wall-running is also available, although it is activated automatically when you jump into a wall.
Stages aren’t that long. There are no checkpoints, so you need to reach the exit door to the next floor without getting hit. This can be tricky because you’ll be dealing with more than one enemy at once. You also need to pay attention to various traps that can be hard to spot. Because there are no visual clues on the screen that would help you spot enemies, you usually don’t even know what hit you. Especially when archers and other ranged attackers are present.
Each ranged attack is announced with an icon above enemy’s head, so you know exactly when to blocks. They're simple to handle if you keep your eyes on them. The best approach is to charge directly at them and take them out before focusing on melee knights.
Enemies don’t attack you all at once. They normally just stand there waiting for you to enter their line of vision or hearing range. This means that the guys on the opposite side of the corridor won't care that you just killed their friend. Each confrontation follows a same pattern: you aim to get a quick kill with a throwable weapon or teleport attack first. If that doesn't work, you keep your sights on an enemy and wait for him to attack. By timing the block just right, the enemy is pushed back and you can kill him.
Enemy weapons can be freely picked up and utilized, or thrown against enemies. The major difference is speed, since a mace takes longer to hit than rapid daggers. Other throwable things can also be found throughout the stages. These include both diversion things like glass or stones and assault items like bombs. Daggers and shurikens are the best tools since they go far and allow you to kill an opponent before he realizes what's going on.
Oh, and one thing you should know is that enemies may kill each other. There are so many situations where an archer fired an arrow into a knight’s back. This can create some really memorable and satisfying moments. In one stage, I killed an enemy from a distance. Three other enemies came to check out the noise, and all got hit by an arrow trap.
The game takes you through three different environments with distinct enemies and look. The overall there is medieval and you start with knights, but then you move on to Oriental look with samurai. Each location has seven standard levels as well as a boss encounter. I don’t like these very much. A boss acts similarly to your character in that it jumps around and throws things at you. The one-shot mechanic doesn’t count for bosses. Another bad design is that their health constantly replenishes, which forces you to attack.
Despite repetition of assets, the visuals are quite nice. There are some issue with fire that seriously drops the frame rates. The enemy animation is a little rough. They can appear to glide over the floor rather than move naturally. However, this is simple to ignore because the game is simply fun.

As of review, I've only gotten past the first episode and that consisted of like 10-ish maps. There are some major rough edges (For me personally, when getting at higher speeds the camera shake is HEAVY and the wall spike traps kill the flow of the level, but you can probably deflect them), but I've seen AAA teams fuck up melee combat harder than this $5 solo dev title. Worth the price, hope they keep improving their craft.

Alright boyyysss. This game is incredibly fun. It can definitely be janky at times, and it's pretty hard, but the core gameply loop is incredibly satisfying. I'd give it an 8/10, definitely worth it. Now onto the specifics.
The bad: Besides the occasional jank, some weapons can't be picked up, which is annoying and odd. The opening cutscene goes by too fast so I can't read it. I'd also prefer it if Zec didn't attack you while talking. I like the idea of him just teleporting around until he finishes. I don't think there needed to be so many equipment items. The smoke bombs don't seem to do anything. I'd have just done knives and bombs for simplicity's sake.
The good: The core gameplay loop is incredibly satisfying. One-hit kills were a great call and makes every combat encounter tense. It also fits well with the artstyle. The variety of weapons is surprisingly deep, just tweaks to which hurts enemy poise, which one is fastest, etc. but it helps things from getting stale. I really like the artstyle. There's quite a bit of variance from floor to floor which again, helps keep things fresh. The lore is really really cool, though it'd be nice if it were a bit easier to follow. The bosses were all distinct from each other- which I liked -and the music was groovy. I think this game would be super fun to speedrun too.

Not bad If you consider this game made by only one person. Especially gameplay mechanics is good. But i can't pass level 3 due to lack of hardware. Skill issue i guess.

I went to the guy at the cassette shop the other day and said, 'Hey, I need something to play.' He said, 'Katana Zero 3D just came out.' I asked if it was for Nintendo 3DS. He replied, 'Nope, it's actually for PC.' So, I said, 'Alright, give me one.' I went home, installed it, and guess what I found in the minimum system requirements? It needs an Intel 19900KH + RTX 9090 :D. Jokes aside, for an indie developer, they've done a great job. It's a great game to play and gets you hooked. For those currently bored due to the lack of games and eagerly waiting for the continuation of Katana Zero, it's a fantastic alternative. Don't miss out.
Note: With the new update, it offers a more optimized gaming experience, but this time, the difficulty of the game has decreased. My preference would have been the difficulty level from when it was first released.

From a technical standpoint, this game has been an absolute disaster from my experience - the frame rate is all over the place, and the graphical options are extremely limited.
However, this game is saved by its excellent gameplay - you feel like a total badass when you rip into enemies with your blades, especially if you couple it with some killer music in the background.
The game is also very cheap and very indie, so I'm inclined to be a bit more forgiving. The issues should be fixed, of course, but the game is still worth playing in its current state.
