Game concept is good overall, i love it but there's def some things that need to be fixed. When i place a ranged tower, they attack allies/allied towers. The guardian also keeps getting attacked by aoe towers.

Great concept I like the game. But for me the camera feels floaty? where it likes feels like poking a jelly. Makes me motion sick... Also the hardest mode could be harder where I only used 2 diffrent towers where I only uppgraded them twice each. Dont like the voice for the narrator kinda off putting. But everything else is nice. Good vibes nice music. Great layout and seems promising with some polish.

Very funny Tower Defense game from a different perspective.
You're not only build towers but gathering, mining, chopping trees, crafting, upgrade weapons, level up buildings etc.
Ultra low system requirements & free-to-play game means only one thing - download immediately.
Highly recommend!

It's a real surprise how enjoyable this game is. The controls are very smooth, and the interface is simple and user-friendly. The survival mechanics it brings to the tower defense genre add a nice new twist to the game. It was especially more fun when I played with my friends. The arcade mode feels like a completely different game on its own. The fact that it's completely free is a big plus. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys this type of game.

Citywars Tower Defense, developed and published by 01 Studio, takes the traditional tower defense formula and expands it into something more ambitious by blending cooperative survival gameplay, crafting systems, city management, and real-time combat. Instead of limiting players to placing defensive structures and waiting for enemy waves to arrive, the game builds an experience around preparation, teamwork, and long-term progression. The result feels like a fusion of multiple genres working together to create a survival-focused strategy experience that rewards planning just as much as action.
At the center of the gameplay is the responsibility of building and protecting a growing settlement against increasingly dangerous enemy attacks. Players are not simply commanders observing defenses from a distance. They actively participate in gathering resources, expanding infrastructure, constructing defensive positions, and directly fighting alongside the city they are trying to preserve. This approach creates a stronger feeling of involvement because every phase of development contributes directly toward survival.
The building mechanics provide one of the game's strongest foundations. Resource collection fuels expansion, while strategic construction determines how well a city can survive incoming threats. Defensive structures form the backbone of protection, but success depends on much more than tower placement alone. Players must carefully decide how resources are distributed between upgrades, expansion, and preparation for future attacks. Poor planning can leave vulnerabilities exposed, while intelligent decisions gradually transform a fragile settlement into a fortified stronghold.
Crafting systems further deepen progression by giving players opportunities to create equipment and improve overall capabilities. Survival extends beyond city construction, requiring players to remain active participants rather than passive overseers. Character improvement systems create additional goals beyond simply surviving enemy waves, allowing long-term progression to feel rewarding across multiple sessions.
Combat introduces another layer of engagement that separates Citywars Tower Defense from more conventional strategy experiences. Players participate directly in battles rather than relying entirely on automated defenses. Enemy attacks become increasingly demanding over time, forcing constant adaptation and encouraging improvements to both infrastructure and combat readiness. The combination of personal action mechanics and strategic planning creates battles that feel energetic without abandoning the tactical elements that define tower defense gameplay.
Cooperative multiplayer serves as one of the experience's defining strengths. Working alongside other players transforms survival into a shared responsibility where teamwork often becomes the deciding factor between success and failure. Gathering resources, reinforcing defenses, and coordinating strategies together creates a stronger sense of accomplishment than solo progression alone. Multiplayer sessions naturally produce moments where communication and preparation matter just as much as mechanical skill.
Progression systems consistently reinforce long-term growth. Cities evolve over time rather than remaining static defensive positions. Expanding infrastructure unlocks additional possibilities, while upgraded systems create meaningful advantages against larger threats. Watching a small settlement gradually become a heavily fortified base creates satisfying progression that rewards investment and careful planning.
The balancing act between offense, defense, and expansion remains one of the game's most engaging aspects. Players constantly face decisions regarding where limited resources should go. Prioritizing rapid growth may weaken defensive capabilities, while focusing too heavily on protection can slow development. This constant pressure creates strategic depth because there is rarely one perfect solution.
Visually, Citywars Tower Defense favors accessibility and charm rather than realism. The colorful presentation complements its cooperative focus while helping gameplay remain readable during larger battles. Environmental design and building progression help settlements feel alive as they evolve, while the approachable visual style supports the game's broader emphasis on teamwork and progression.
As an Early Access project, some rough edges remain noticeable. Certain systems can occasionally feel repetitive during longer sessions, and technical inconsistencies may appear from time to time. Some areas still show room for refinement as development continues. However, the game's strongest systems already demonstrate considerable potential, particularly for players interested in multiplayer strategy experiences that combine multiple gameplay styles.
What ultimately makes Citywars Tower Defense stand out is how naturally it combines mechanics from several genres without allowing one element to overshadow everything else. Survival gameplay, tower defense systems, crafting, resource management, and city development all support one another effectively. The game creates an experience where preparation matters as much as execution, and teamwork often becomes the key to overcoming escalating challenges.
Players who enjoy cooperative progression systems, strategic building mechanics, and survival-focused gameplay will likely find plenty to appreciate. Citywars Tower Defense may still be expanding and evolving, but its strongest ideas already create a satisfying gameplay loop built around growth, defense, and cooperation.
A creative blend of survival systems, cooperative strategy, and tower defense mechanics that delivers rewarding progression and enjoyable teamwork while showing strong potential for continued growth.
