For those experiencing issues with starting their Steam Deck, there is a solution for the Captain Tsubasa game. Simply navigate to the folder where the game is installed, locate the “rename.exe” file, rename it to “rename_backup.exe”, and then duplicate the “captain tsubasa rise of new champions.exe” file. Rename the duplicate to “rename.exe” and the game should start up without any issues. After following these steps, the game should run smoothly. Best of luck to those experiencing this problem.

Super smash bros + FIFA + Gacha. Captain Tsubasa RoNC is fun but a bit shallow. The mechanics in place dont do enough to reward players that are "trying" to use some kind of real world/sports world logic in them. You could play this game like real soccer, but then the elephant in the room speaks, the rpg mechanics/numbers that dictate everything. You would never expect someone to dribble through literally every person on your team then, send the goalie into the net with the ball, but with the rights skills and high enough stats, thats exactly what youll get, on either side of the ball. What does that mean? You have to recognize and respect "star" players, on teams because theyll walk all over your teammates without your interference. When the AI gives the ball to a player with vastly superior stats, it B lines where it wants, through whoever it thinks it can beat on your team, and its usually correct. After completing the CaC story 20 something times, the last majority of my attention while playing is on the friendship/card levels and how many broken skills I can incorporate into a build, not on the soccer im playing or fundamentally how im playing it. Im hoping for a deeper sequel or spiritual successor but I wont hold my breath.

A review from non-Captain Tsubasa fans.
This game has very nice gameplay, infinite replayabilty and great visuals. I don't get it why it's so underappreciated, thing that i hate from this game is only watching the "Anime cutscene" because it's broken. (BANDAI PLEASE FIX THIS I BEG YOU!)
You can also make your own character with special moves from other playable characters, like using iconic Tsubasa "Drive shot" or Hyuga "Tiger Shot".
This game remind me of winning eleven (old PES) so much. Just ignore that negative review, mostly of them just complaining about their skill issue and online features. Maybe this game is not really optimized well, but it's not really that game breaking. Buy this game if you're looking something different from a soccer games. 9/10
Also 2nd season of Captain Tsubasa is coming out!

I could play this game for an entire day and it wouldn't get boring, the sheer variety of the moves, how you can make a character, all the way down to how he tackles and stuff. This game is genuinely great and always will be, it was so fun playing this and I also really like the fact that it his replay-ability like it does.
